Brettonian army, themend on (Monty Pyton's) Quest for the Holy Grail! Now, the idea seems alright to me, but I need some help. I can get my hands on a Brettonian book, but I'm still not shure about how to do the actuall army, or especially what models to use. I wanted to have them Standing on fott witha pesant with the coconuts for horese sound effects, just like on the movie. But rules wise, they would still "count as" being on a barded purebread Brettonian Warhorse  For three reasons: 1: They would actually be able to fight that way 2: I wouldn't be able to fit the pesant on the back of a regular base, so a cavelry base is nessecary 3: It would be illegal to have all the knights dismounted (heroes can, but not the knight units) So what models to use? do I just put the knights on the ground instead of horseback? But the legs would have to change in some manner. But of the pesant: Archer? Man at arms? empire militia? and in any case, how to do the coconut halves? prolly green stuff, so yeah that was a stupid question. Also, I will need a list off all the names of the Knights in the film, as I can remember few of them. A final point, Sir not appearing in this film? should I try to include him somehow? Maybey someone holding a little sign with his picture on it? ![]() And one last note, I may never get around to making this army, but the concept has been gnawing at my mind for too long now! |

it's been done... but then again so has everything so I say go for it! I think it was a french woman made it, they showed a few pictures (tim the enchanter, the 'bring out yer dead' cart, and the monks who whack themselves in the head with boards) in a games day article in WD a few years back i think you could pull off the knights+peasants on cavalry bases... i mean, it works for skaven, you even get the 6+ save normally reserved for mounted models because of the two models on your base. I guess barding is the servants' armor. list of knights' names, look on wikipedia |

This would look awesome! The ideas are good, and if you can do it right it will be an awesome army! For the legs of the knights you will probably need to do some converting work as I cant think of any legs that will do the job well... - Sammy there're a couple zombie legs i can think of that would fit the post, but youd need a lot of em |

i could swear i already saw this on the net some time ago, i think that its in the coverage of a GT in the USA or something... anyway, its a great theme, and you should definitely continue your idea!! |

You should use the Men at Arms as the peasants, and for the knights maybe you should use some of the archive bretonnian knights on foot? If not, then i'm sure there's some suitable legs out there (maybe chaos warriors?). James |

i know how to make on foot knights. buy a men at arms box and use the men at arms legs with a plastic bretonians torso. i saw this on the bretonian boards, its been done before, by many many people. it might be a good idea to check out the bretonian round table for info on it and how to make on foot knights aswell. i'd sugest peasent bowmen for the second model on the base, men at arms would look too similar to the knights if the knights use the men at arms legs. |
