At least one part of GW is really nice with the customers. (note that I can't say anything about those working in the shops, I never met any) |

insider story I heard from a guy that works on Rouge Trader told me that the doctorine for GW employees is to help the HOBBYIST as much and the Customer less. Meaning, they shouldn't ask you if you want to buy collors. They should ask if you have the collors needed to paint it, and give advices on how to be able to highlight, shadow and such

So the saga continued, i got the warlock engineer sent through that was fine, but still no basing kits or rule case. Not only that my girlfriend bought be some stuff at the weekend, one item being a warplightning cannon. Get it home and open it up....... No sodding chasis just my luck so I call the store up and speak to the guy and say it was missing a piece, he asked if i could come down tomorrow and I said yes but only very early as I am very busy throughout the day what time do you open, he has 11 I go I will be there at 11. Turn up at 11 store closed, its freezing cold and chucking it down with rain, I wait - 11:45 store still closed, phone up direct sales tell them whats happening they say we will investigate and call me back, no call. 12:00 I get pissed off and go home. Today I call up and say its been 10 days no items explain the story above, guy on the other end was amazing :-D said that is pure crap service and no excuse basing kits had sold out. Lucky I managed to get 1 from store when they came out so I got a refund for the basing kits. Got the rule case re sent special delivery - replacement chasis piece sent, free warplightning cannon. He then goes do you even want a warp lightning cannon? I said i dont need an additional cannon the only thing i need is a screaming bell he goes done, gives me a screaming bell and a cannon. To say sorry. Ended up having a nice 30 minute chat with him whilst this was happening turns out we are both friends with the old Bristol Central Manager Ben :-D What a small world. Hopefully by Thursday all my stuff should be here. Just my luck though 10 years perfect GW service and 2 weeks of nothing but a pain in the rear. |

Wait you got a free screaming bell AND cannon ![]() Woo that sounds good and yup the GW staff are awsome, when i bought the skaven army deal ages ago, one of the staff members looked through it to make sure everything was there, turned out that there was an extra ratling gun that shouldnt of been there, owell he let me have it, not only that he then said "i think you need some glue with that" at first i thought he was trying to sell me the glue, turned out he was giving me it free ![]() And when i bought the warhammer fotress a while back, the guy there asked me if i had any siege equipment, i told him that i had none, but was going to try and get/make some, i asked if i could leave the fortress in the store and pick it up later (so i could do some shopping) came back, and mysteriously there were 2 ladders from the urik hi siege set in there =D! Hurrah! And a while back one of my white dwarf issues was late! i called up after a few weeks after it was due, and i recieved it a few days later, with a free book! |

Got to agree on this They kept forgetting to send me my white dwarf on subscription for 5 months, so i kept ringing them up and they re-ordered it and sent me the issue i needed. When it did not turn up on the 6th month, they gave me 2 years free... |

I've never had any major stuff ups with games workshop products, oddly enough. Exept that in the battaliion box i think I may have got a few extra bases (15-20 or so) but they did spell my name wrong on the box <_< .But yeah, every GW store I've ever been in (two in perth and a couple in England, including Warhammer World) the stafff were really helpfull. OH and congrats on the free stuff

worked fulltime for GW shop front for 2 and a half years and have to say that as a service company they have one of the best approaches to retail. all staff are strictly instructed that the company would rather see a customer not buy anything but be more enthused about their hobby, then buy an expensive model they don’t need. They did learn the hard way after an early 1990’s mistake where new CEO’s tried to turn it into a “chaos warrior emptying kids of money at the door” style business and their stocks crashed… things are back to hobby focused again, the only plus of those days was it was a good time to buy GW stocks, cause now they’re worth a bundle

Gw staff are indeed some of the nicest guys out there, Heck I remember back at an auction a while back while he was ringing up my items, he gave me 4 old WD issues and a couple mutation sprues free. Earlier on in the auction they just gave a Tau Ethereal to another guy who played Tau. Heck, they're the #1 reason I go there so often.
