Clanrat
The rust-ridden tool ripped nearly into the scaly hide of a snake, slicing through the soft skin and revealing the inner workings of the serpent to Scarskrex's cold, calculating eyes.
The Master Moulder leaned in, his tool diving deftly across a layer of muscle. It parted silently under the knife's nefarious touch, revealing a long, linear ribcage. The Moulder's tongue flickered testily in and out.
A slender finger slipped into the snake's innards, and Scarskrex noted with a satisfied smile and a scribble on some parchment how the insides were already cooling. Swiftly he moved on.
The click of cracking bones crept into the chamber, followed by the strong stench of stomach acid. Digestive juices sluiced over the rock on which the snake was being dissected, and the Skaven peered inquisitvely down. Bones and flesh all sat, soft and soggy, half-digested amongst the biological acids of the serpent's insides. Once more Scarskrex scrawled some scripture onto a piece of parchment. So even bone could be dissolved by a snake. Even bone.
Discarding the despoiled tool, the Mutator whisked the lifeless serpent into his grasp and flicked it like a whip into the air. Blood and purpley organs splashed the festering floor, but the Skaven had only eyes for the fluidy with which the corpse coiled and curled in the air. It was unparallelled. Imagine the initiative, the movement, the grace and suddeness which a creature with such a structure could attack...Inspiration slithered through his mind, compelling the Moulder to jot more notes down.
His unblinking eyes drifted languidly to the cages serpents at the side of the room, and he strode over to them, discarding the dead snake on the side. Stopping first by a blind snake, whose eyes he'd burned out, Skarskrex dumped the beast on a workstation. It landed with a thump.
Waving his hand, hot and furry by comparison so the snake, around its head, Scarskrex noted with fascination how it still managed to follow the movement. The snake was indigenous to the Southlands, he noted. This might be relevant; a peculiar trait specific only to its kind. He would compare it to others and see if they exibited the same sensory awareness.
Dropping the blind snake in its cage again, he glanced down into a large, liquid-filled tank. The glass container seethed with stagnant waters, but the Moulder cared not. He plunged his hands into the pestilent-looking water and heaved a monstrous serpent, easily as thick as his thigh, from within. It slumped onto the rocky, waste-strewn ground, water dripping from its smooth, shimmering hide. Scarskrex's own snakes, grafted to his shoulders, recoiled from the beast. This one had been retrieved from Lustria. Loved the water it apparently did, indeed even as he watched the creature peered around for the dank, wet tank, its sides seeming to ripple as it sought to return to its watery world. Such curious traits would doubtless be present in any creature he mutated, so long as this breed of serpent was the base. He would need more, much more. Then he could begin to formulate a water-loving monster, which could hide for hours, unseen, just below the surface. It would wait, willingly, patiently, for prey to step near...then strike them like lightning!
His eyes shining with delight, the Moulder marched from the room. He had plans to make.

Excellent. A vignette of the twisted thought processed and warped-mutator logic of a Master Moulder - what's not to like? :) Very well written, too.
