Hey all, thought I'd show you a story that I had written up. It's not about Skaven though :ph43r:

''We're all dead soon.''
Those were Hans' thoughts as he looked at the enemy horde assembling before him. How could his army possibly hope to stand before such great Evil? For Evil they were; tall of length and and pale of skin, and their already red armour was covered in blood and gory trophies, such as decapitated heads and hacked-off hands and feet. Their banners were as black as the night, with a strange red symbol on it, with skulls impaled on the banner pole. These were the Warriors of Khorne, and they were without mercy.

''Blood for the Blood God!''

With that roar, the vast, frenzied horde advanced.

As the enemy got nearer, Hans cried ''For Sigmar! For Karl Franz! For the Empire!'' Many voices cried similar things, and readied their weapons. Shining swords were unsheathed, great halberds were raised and handguns were loaded. The mighty mortars and cannons on the hills behind the Empire army prepared to fire too, and Hans saw Wilhelm, the Warrior Priest, roaring and stamping, waving with his two Warhammers and taunting the enemy. Hans also heard Markus, the Artilerry Commander, scream ''Fire!'', and witnessed the great cannon balls and mortar shells plough a bloody swathe through the ranks of the raging enemy. Yet this seemed to have no effect on their morale, and they kept coming, together with their monstrous allies: Mercenary Ogres, big humanoids who would devour all in their path, brutal Chaos Trolls with great rocks and multiple heads, itching to smash the enemy apart, and Minotaurs, with the heads of bulls and huge axes the size of a man. Hans saw a cannonball fly straight through the mutated belly of a Chaos Troll, and although it stopped for a few seconds, Hans realized in horror that its monstrous flesh grew straight back on! How could these things possibly die?

''Blood for the Blood God!''

Handguns were fired, and yet more Warriors were biting the dust, and not just warriors: their allies, the vile Beastmen, were being cut down in droves, together with their big mutated hounds, sent back to the Hell from whence they came. Surely this must demoralize them, Hans thought, but then he noticed the enemy Warlord; Riding upon a huge black steed, he was large even for an inhabitant of the North. What worried Hans more, his axe was equally large, if not bigger, and covered in foul symbols of the Dark Tongue.

"Blood for the Blood God!''

The enemy was getting really close now. Hans aimed his pistol and fired at a Warrior with a tentacle instead of a left arm. The shot was right on target, blowing his foul head off. Then the enemy charged in. With a mighty clash, heads were severed and the once-fair lands of Abenheim became covered in blood. Brutal warrior fought finely trained swordsman, flails smashed into shields and axes into skulls. Hans saw an axe go straight for his head, and at the last moment he ducked, stabbing his attacker into his throat with finely made sword. Blood sprayed all around him as the defeated enemy fell to the ground. Hans had only seconds to enjoy his small victory though, as he saw a lumbering Ogre wielding two maces coming his way. With a prayer on his lips, Hans charged the beast.

While fighting, Hans did not notice the massacre around him. Powerful Knights with axes and swords charged into the fray, slaughtering all before them, while their Minotaur allies stomped and smashed every opposition apart. Black, winged creatures came charging from the skies, attack the Empire warmachines, draggin Markus into the air and devouring him then and there. Slowly but steadily, the Empire army began to rout...

''Blood for the Blood God!''

Standing upon the carcass of his Ogre enemy, Hans finally realized what was going on. ''Hold the line!'' he cried, but to no avail: The only ones still fighting were Hans, Wilhelm and their bodyguard, now encircled and outnumbered four to one. Wilhelm acted at least as enraged as their Khornate enemy, beating down all the evil-doers that came his way. But it didn't matter how many were cut down; there were always more to step into their place. After hours of fighting, Hans fell to his knees, exhausted and wounded. Suddenly he saw who stood before him: the Chaos Lord, staring at him. As the hated enemy raised his axe, preparing the killing blow, all Hans could do was staring defiantly ar his victorious foe. And then, out of nowhere, a rock came smashing down on the Lord, splattering his minions with his foul blood. As the confused Warriors looked around, searching for their Chief's killer, the Dwarfs of Karak Kadrin charged in.

The battle was far from over yet.

Please tell me what ya think of it :) I'm writing up part II atm.

Poor poor Chaos Lords of Khorne, they always get the worst of it, don't they? -_-

Anyways, yes yes, a good read, although I was at a loss with who all the named characters were... Also, there was a definte lack of Skaven for my liking... :(

Nevertheless, exuberant* descriptive writing, and the technique of repeating "Blood for the Blood God", clever for showing how quickly this all passed by. IF you were to write a second part, you would indeed get readers! B)

*my english teacher told me never to use the word "good" in essays.

Thanks guys, here's part II for those who are interested (still no skaven...):

The battle raged on for hours. The Chaos Horde was outflanked and leaderless, but far from outnumbered, and they weren't going down without a fight. Axe crashed on shield, mace on gromril armour and mutated crab-like arms grasped for Dwarven throats. Hooves kicked at finely made helmets, only to be blocked and brutally cut off, and all the while rocks, bolts and bullets kept descending on the much-thinned Khornate Legion.

Fearless Slayers charged the Minotaurs, bringing them down one by one in a flurry of deadly blows. Ironbreakers slaughtered a regiment of Marauders, whose blows simply had no effect on the heavily armoured Dwarfs. Meanwhile, the Trolls threw up noxious acids over the Dwarfs, their armour being no protection at all against the foul vomit.

At the front of the mighty reinforcements was the Dwarf Lord, standing upon a great shield carried by two of his most trusted underlings, his armour and axe covered in runes to make him all the more formidable in combat. He cleaved a bloody path throught the Dark Warriors and foul mutants, and not a single enemy could stand before him and live.

But the army of the Blood God was not without it's own excellent warriors. Although the most fearsome soldier in the entire army was now reduced to a bloody mess, his second-in-command was still alive, and had no intention of resting this day. With one hand wielding a mighty axe, and with the other a brutal flail with spikes, this Champion of Khorne dispatched all Dwarfs who stood in his way, while roaring ''Blood for the Blood God!'' louder than any other fighter.

It was inevitable that the two awesome Warriors would meet in single combat. When the Dwarf Lord saw the Khorne Champion, he immediately challenged his foe to single combat: ''You! I challenge you, thrice cursed Chaos-worshipper! Battle me and meet your doom!'' The Chaos Champion's response was simple (if not somewhat predictable):

''BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!''

With that cry, the berserk Khornate charged his small but stubborn adversary. ''Forwards!'' The Dwarf roared, and his powerful Shieldbearers advanced towards the madman, who had now changed of subject:

''SKULLS FOR THE THRONE OF KHORNE!''

With a mighy clash, the two leaders charged each other, the Champion diving out of the way of the Lord's monstrous weapon, and the Dwarfs' huge axe deflecting blow after blow from the frenzied Chaos Warrior. The Shieldbearers, however, were neither as skilled nor as lucky, quickly falling under the flurry of blows dealt out by the psychopath. The large shield fell to the ground, and whilst falling off, the Dwarf could not avoid being hit by another deadly swing of a spiked flail. Although his armour protected him from the worst of the blow, he was still dizzled for a second, which was enough for his foe to strike again, this time at an unprotected part of his arm, the axe cutting deep into his flesh. Rather than crying out of pain, the Dwarf Lord dropped his axe which was now too heavy for him and quickly picked up a single-handed axe from one of his dead kinsmen and threw it straight at the Chaos Champion's head. The khornate, being fully surprised by this ranged attack, was too late to deflect it, and fell to the ground, the axe embedded in his face.

Now that their last leader was dead too, the Chaotic Army turned tail and ran for their lives, too fast for the short-legged Dwarf to follow. Meanwhile, Hans had seen how the Dwarf Lord had killed off the enemy's last hope, before going unconscious.

Please tell me what ya think of it :censor:

Once again, those Khornate Champions have the hardest time, no? -_-

At least the Dwarf Lord was kille... wait a minute...

Who's side are you on?! Dev

(Still an enjoyable read though)
