i went to warhammer world and lost against dwarfs because of thunderers :angry: . how do you kill them! i used a clan moulder army

Short answer: Slave shields. Lots of them. Long answer: Slave shields of 30-25 rats, within Ld range of the general. Lots of them. *grins* Other alternatives are warplightening, maybe the WLC... *shrugs* But the best tactic is just to deny them LoS to anything expensive.... Screening is your friend... If you prefer to run moulder, use fast units to charge them fast? the less time you take in their range, the less damage they can do.... Oh, and, Stormbanner... *starts watch, counts down until CoXIII member moves this to warroom... 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14.... Cheers. -Stinkhair |

or you could not do something stupid like start lizardmen ![]() a good sized tunneling team with poisoned w/ poisoned weapons shouild do the trick. Except if they have sheilds. Slavesheilds also work well as stinky said. And I love thunderers.... i dont play dwarfs or anything

easiest way to negate thunderers; give them lots of targets to shoot at, and try to keep units in range of the general. So slaves, rat ogres would prolly do it really well, or swarms |

hmm actually 2 or three units of slaves of 20 walking forward infront of your army is a real pain for dwarven armies. I usually end up charging the thunderers with one unit of slaves and one unit of giant rats (3 packs) and then a canon and a organ gun with the remaining slave units. sometimes i need to finish them of later with nightrunners or gutterrunners, but the point being they cant shoot while they're in combat and the rank of the slaves will make it fairly easy to hold ground. Behind this wave my main army with warlord advances, thus the ld will be carried towards both waves. The real problem with dwarves is that they are never running away anymore with their new book. I've my best mate playing dwarven and since the new book got released i simply cant win anymore,... and i've had combat results of 13 favouring me where he simply stood ground thanks to some stinking runes. He is a strategical player and smart aswell,... not saying i'm not verry strategical. the only way to beat him would be making a Sad list. AND I REFUSE THAT! |

Slave screens are a obvious solution, but there are other ways! Take nightrunners for example. For the new dward rules, thunderers can no longer move and shoot. Get a unit of night runners into their flank, or force them to turn away from the main attack and your fine. Nightrunners wont beat them in combat, but they'll tie them up for a bit.

Monks with the umbranner is probably the best way. I have been employing this tactic lately and it works pretty good. We have two Dwarf players and two wood elf players so the umbranner usually pays for itself. |
