This is a direct challenge to the holder of Seat 5 on the Council of XIII, the most famous canoodler of hedgehogs of this community - yes you (you can stop hiding under that seat - only we Eshin are even more omnipresent than a CoXIII member, so it won't save you a smidgen) ............. SCRIVENER!!! Being fully aware of everything happening hereabouts, as all CoXIII members must be, you are undoubtedly familiar with this thread here, right? Yet you have yet to stand beside your fellow comrats of the Emerald City (that's Sydney, for all you barbarians not lucky enough to live here) and declare your intentions to join us in the Inevitable Victory of the Mouster Race (+ a very very good chance to seriously plug this site). So here is the challenge: You, O Lord of the CoXIII vs this humble mere Lord of Decay in a Round 1 challenge? For the Nightlord and the glory of Clan Eshin (so feel free to practice some of your Bo Thai on Phordicus neekneekneek)! Peace, Love + Warpstone ............. (at least, after Round 1 )

Aaaaack!!! *hides under seat* *sends assassins* Sooo, I'm getting challenged by the esteemed and decorated general Xhin Tarat? Hmm... it would be a tempting offer if I wasn't so assured of being utterly squished. In fact it's still a very tempting chance to meet the fabled afficionado of chambara flicks and see his military prowess in action.I'm still sadly going to have to take a raincheck. Besides the fact that I don't actually own 2k worth of tournament-worthy skaven (yep, i'm still kinda n00b :(), and have a phobia of large crowds, 2 days including overnight (ok, not like I'll be lasting that long anyway) over at Quakers Hill is a bit of a commitment (my mental map ends at parramatta, anything beyond that is "very far away"). I'll keep a eye on the other ones, maybe make it to one of those. Sorry about that, i'll still see if I can show up at the least. |

Well my brother - who will be staying at my place after motoring up from Canberra - and I will be travelling to Quakers Hill from Sutherland Shire every day (for non-Sydneyites: a roughly 90 drive each way, if you score a good clear run) so I hear you loud and clear about "very far away". There are (so far) three members of this community playing at Leviathon, so even if you can't participate it would still be nice to catch up with you there (and put faces to sigs & silly nicks). And although there are no challenges permitted at FoW in May, they are on for SPAWN (2500pts) in June and the Sydney GT (2000pts, to be held at Bankstown) in early July, so consider yourself suitably challenged. Or of course, we can line one up at the Eucalyptus Bowl in Bexley come late July if you'd like a game (or 6 ) of Blood Bowl. If our route to Leviathon is going past your burrow, I'm sure that we can give you a lift. And of course, if you'd like to play I am confident that I can get you some additional troops (or even an Eshin army) if you'd like. No hedgehogs though! Catchya (sometime) ............. |

I'm telling you Scrivener - you are missing the game and event of a lifetime. Step out of your comfort zone and dip your toes into the world of tournament playing - if I could travel over 1200 miles to get to a Sydney tournament (funded by the sale of a skaven army, I might add), away from job, wife and kids, then I'm sure you can survive a couple of days away from the old folks - particularly when you get to gome home each night anyway. Mate, it is no pressure, these events are on every year, and they cater from grizzled veterans to kids barely into double figures, so you've got plenty of time to choose an event which suits your travel arrangements, timetable and preferences etc., but frankly - once you've attended a tournament you'll wonder why you put it off for so long. |
