Hi all, I donīt use rat ogres, nor giant rats at all but as I owe, at least, one unit of each type of the general army list Iīm thinking of having a unit of rat ogres-pack masters. I think that GW packmaster models are passable but i donīt like rat-ogre models so... does any one know any alternative rat-ogre model i could use??? Thx. |

Or workharder on the plastic ones, you can make awesome combo's and poses if you just put a little effort in

My logic is that if its on the right size base and looks suitably mutated you can use anything for a rat ogre, rat ogres being mutants in teh first place that have become a seperate species, hell as long as you have pakcmasters anything can be forced into combat

Im not really a huge fan of the new plastic rat ogres either, except for the fact that they're great for conversions. Instead of the rat heads, ive been giving em wolf heads from the goblin wolf riders. I think they look really cool that way. Its the same model otherwise so maybe this isn't quite what you're looking for but maybe its something you'd want to try. I've got one thats still very much a WIP but i could post a pic if you're interested. Acrux |

Playing around with the Rat Ogre and Ogre Bulls plastic boxes may yield some interesting conversions. Check out the Dwarf Skirmish campaign for some pics- I think there's one that has a pair of Slayers duking it out with some Rat Ogres. Or put a Rat Ogre head over the Gorger. |

Converting models is not what Iīm looking for... I was thinking of using "modified" CONFRONTATION models; may be from the wolfen army... What do you think? I feel they are too wolfy to convert them to ratogres....

What I have seen so far with the plastic ratogres, is people who just randomly stuck the bits they liked together, while these plastics give us the option to make awesomely and fantasyfull poses with them. With a decent paintjob they can look betther then the older metals. Nowdays I allways prefer my plastics over the metals, they just look betther. I agree they look like crap on the box, tough.

combining with the old metal ones sure makes them look even better. I would think. Nice bodies combined with the new better extras and other limbs (XD)

nice one Stink.I can not believe the lazyness of most current Skavenplayers. It takes just a little effort to make your plastic ratogres real centerpieces of your army! |
