My buddy is going to quit Warhammer on meirly 400pts :(
so now i have lost my main opponent... and he is going to start LOTR
And now of some reason i feel i want to start to... and that skaven sucks hard. But-but I do know-know whats wrong. Its that i just aint gonna stop with them. As i did promise myself from the beginning, im going to have atleast 1k skaven before starting any other project. Also a reason of me starting LotR is because my little gaming group is going to get about 3 more players only playing LotR. Well well, i have always wanted to play another skirmish-feel game. But im going to continue play my skaven army a veeeeeeery long time. Probably starting 40k some day too. :ph43r:

Don't see this as a goobye, just as a note ^_^

Hey! Start Mordheim! Its skirmish! Its (relative) cheap! AND you can use skaven!
My buddies quit Warhammer too some month ago, but we started playing mordheim instead ^_^

Never start LotR, PLEASE! It's a game only fit for those with brains like walnuts. Small ones.

More grey every day.
Never played it. The only people I know who play it are kids (early teens.) They all seem to enjoy it...

Regarding Warwolt's friend defecting to the light side, three players can be "critical mass" for a small gaming group. My advice is to go hang out with them when they play (assuming you're invited) and bring Skaven to paint, or maybe a new army book. Maybe you can slowly win the other three over to whfb.
So old. So so old.

hmmm... from what i've heard of the game it's as simple as warhammer 40k. (and i mean that in a bad way) how many early teens do you see playing 40k and LOTR? then compair that to the # of warhammer players. see, the youngins (and yes i was one) love 40k because it is relitively easy and you get guns! many of em (me included) find themselves watching the warhammer fantisy games on the next table and eventually start joining in using someone's spair army. and a new warhammer player is made!

anyway, i could make this huge rant about how 40k rules are sandbox compaired to fantisy, and how 40k is: 'Biggest and most guns/crazy assault units (7 attacks each)=win'. in fantisy you could have the platoon of swordsmen with 3+ save and 3 attacks each, but then you just get flank ands side charged by ratogres and other big scary things.

anyway, my adivice is to stick with fantisy. :)

I'm not going to lie, I enjoy LOTR (battle companies), but next to nobody plays it. I still prefer WHFB by far, but I prefer LOTR over 40k.

And as a side note: mordheim is fun...

I have to agree, that is a good adwise, slowely lure them to the whfb-world.
It has been done before (Iīve now after some years got two of my three
brothers into playing :D). You could start by asking them if they want to play
a small game of perhaps, wh-skirmish or warbands some day.

And LOTR is not good compared to 40k and whfb IMO. I tried it and sold it.
But itīs more fun than not playing at all of course.

How very unorky... THANKS ;) *wonders if Skittin needs time out...

~

big pull of lotr is i think most of the models are easier then pie to put together and normally dont sell very well so are marked down a bit closer to cost then the other items gw sells. but thats really just a guess as im too lazy to look it up.

peer pressure can be a funny thing, do whatever you want as its really up to you in the end ;)
