I like this work, but, perhaps, the spiked ball of the mace should not be just black. Maybe you will try NMM? |

It's a WIP(work in progress) model so he's not done yet, he will paint the ball... and for some reason I don't think Acrux will be using NMM... -Neanderthal05 |

ok here he is, i just finished it about an hour ago and i am sooooo happy to finally be done w/ this model ![]() im pretty happy w/ the way the "thorn rope" turned out went w/ the grey skulls, i had better results w/ the dirty lookin skulls on the rat swarms i just finished, but you guys were right the grey ones just look better w/ the rest of the model
Neanderthal knows me well and hes right, you wont see me doing any nmm ever, i despise the technique lol @ Mork and Sir-Plague-a-Lot - the skin is a base coat of beastial brown shaded w/ black, folowed by bestial brown then highlighted up to pure elf flesh. the highlights were watered down quite a bit, seems to help it blend better @s'nkeep - didn't have the heart to try blood spatter on this model hehe, not yet anyway, ill try it on some monks or pcb's first and see how it turns out then maybe ill go back and do this one once again thanks guys for the compliments and the input, up next will be my inn i think, its been sitting on my table unfinished for about 3 months now ill post pics soon as im done Acrux's Hobby Tip of the Day: Never under any circumstance blow into the tub of static grass. Very nicely done, you've got some of the most detailed highlighting i've seen. The skulls, the wood grain, the tail and the foot especially. ![]() I think you've attempted that green verdigris copper rust thing on one of the flails, good work there, and the other iron bits look appropriately tarnished too, but it does kinda stick out that the dagger hilt is really polished and clean.
and certainly try to avoid inhaling sharply immediately after. Wasn't pleasant, not at all.

 I hate you!..... But with good reason, because you have incredible painting skills. The flesh tone and shading is a joy to behold. The skulls in their new colours are great and your 'thorn rope thingy' is extremely good as well. Im not sure how much they pay, but get a job at the 'Eavy metal team. Your good enough i'd say! ![]() Also, golden demon lad. Might be worth entering your plague priest chap. ![]() Stunning work and it has inspired me to make sure I do a good job on the exact same model I have to paint. Question: Do you thin all your paints with water before use? |

yes, i never used to but lately i have been thinning nearly all my paints either by mixing water in w/ em on the palette or just using a wet brush sometimes i keep the base color a little thicker but ive been having better luck w/ watered down highlights Acrux |
