(These rules with little changes in the fluff may easily represent clan Mors) Clan Sniekk is one of the countless warlord clans that consist the under-empire. Their constant struggle with other clans made the clan very rich. They primary residence is the Sunken Fortress in Cripple Peak, a former Dwarf Hold and an area rich in warpstone. The clan always pays the warpstone tithing to the counsil and to clan Eshin. The former warlord of the clan, Warlord Sven, is a cunning and ruthless individual, smart enough to understand that Clan Scryre is the strongest clan in Under-Empire. He has equiped his regiments with many ratling guns and Warlock Engineers. Also, he has hired countless assassins for bodyguards after several assassination attempts. Clan Sniekk is a warlord clan with high fighting standards, which is quite uncommon for skaven armies. In battle, many clanrats, elite stormvermin and good equiped slaves march under the clans battle standard, while Eshin fast troops scout the battlefield. Here Comes the Army List Lords: Warlord 0-1 Gray Seer (does not have high ranking) Heroes: 1+ Chieftain (the army must include a Battle Standard Bearer) Warlock Engineer Assassin (may take 1-2 Assassins as one Hero Choice) Warlord Sven hired in his earlier years many assassins from Clan Eshin to protect him from assassination attempts. These assassins now are loyal to the clan after many years of servitude, and are a common sight in Clan Sniekk army. Core: Clanrats Clan Sniekk Clanrats are usually better equipped from the others, gaining greater fighting capability Clanrats are as normal, with the exception that they may exchange shields for halberds or buy them for +1 pt/model). One unit of Clanrats in the army may take a magical banner up to 25 pt. 0-2 Stormvermin Stormvermin are the best fighters in Clan Sniekk. They are formidably brave warriors, and if their general is amongst them, they fear little. Usually they are better equipped from those of other clans. Stormvermin may exchange halberds for great weapons at no additional cost. If their general is in the unit leading from the front, stormvermin are immune to panic. 0-1 Rat Swarms (may never be upgraded to plague rats) Night Runners Clan Sniekk always uses night runners to do all the dirty job. They are a common sight in the battlefield, and are used mostly as cannon fodder and missile screen. Night runners in Clan Sniekk are expendable; all units except other night runners always pass all Ld tests caused by night runners. In addition, one unit of night runners in the army may be deployed as scouts for +1 pt/model Clanrat Slaves The Clan is full of these troops, but favors clanrats more. Their equipment usually is better than normal and their fighting capability is increased greatly. These slaves carry their own crude made banners in the battle for inspiration, but these banners offer no honor to the enemy when captured. Slaves must have full command [must upgrade one slave to a standard bearer for + 8 pt]; no victory points are scored for slave banners captured at the end of the battle. More than half units must have shields. Special: Poisoned Wind Globardiers Gutter Runners Warplock Jezzails (one unit cost 2 special choices) Warhounds (as in Hordes of Chaos Army List) In the Sunken Fortress, packs of semi-feral dogs roam the land. The clan’s Chieftains occasionally capture some of them and train them for war. These dogs follow the armies of the Clan with no handlers at all, attacking all but their masters with savage ferocity. Rare: Warp-Lighting Cannon 0-1 Eshin Triad (as in Clan Eshin Army List) The Clan some times uses these trios of Assassins as Clan Eshin does, to infiltrate into enemy territory and take out important figures. War Rat Ogres Bought years ago from clan Moulder, these huge ratkin were trained from Chieftains of the Clan, after the deaths of their packmasters in a batte. Training made them less wild and more disciplined. Trained to use weapons and armor, with some good guidance, these Rat Ogres are more dangerous than ever. (War Rat Ogres got heavy armor, form ranks [3 War Rat Ogres form a rank], they have no packmasters but suffer from stupidity, and always are equipped with halberds or additional hand weapons. No characters may join the unit. They cost 54 pt each. Unit Size 1-12) Dogs of War |

yey a well done army list variation.okay i am not going to get into much detail, it will take to long, but from first glance i like the list overall, the list does seem slightly weighted towards your a certain style of play but otherwise it seems fair as although you have lots of eshin and moulder (fluff wise) you have less skyre (2 special slots for jezzails) and no pestilens. i think you have managed to get the clanrats just right and the stormvermin with the leader, especially that he has to be in the front rank, i dont overly like the war rat ogres, simply because you have them as 3 wide to make a rank, this is a tad unfair IMO, i know its a pain but i would recomend you change that to four wide, up to you of course. warhounds  This list is well done, good job and may the horned rat watch over you Dan |

The list looks good to me, I agree and also don't agree with Farsight, three does seem a bit unfair, but then three of them do count as six models don't they? so I guess it's also fair. Apart from that the only thing I wasn't quite too sure about is the expendable night runners, I just doubt that they would willingly go out as cannon fodder, even though that's what they are used for a lot of the time in games, but I don't think they'd be that dumb to willingly want to do that. Also I would still consider it a bit de-moralising for on looking clanrats to see a higher ld unit running away in panic, the reason slaves were expendable is because they were slaves no one cared about, just like grots, they are the weediest and no ones cares about them...... That's just my oppinion on it anyway -Master Splinter |

It's okay. A few things I am not sure about... expendable Night Runners, for instance. But mostly the slaves. Requiring them to be upgraded? Very few people actually upgrade slaves at all (including me). I don't see why they should have to be upgraded. Does your clan treat slaves better than the other clans? But besides that, it isn't bad. Pillz |

Looks fine (although I don't like the War Rat Ogres, fluff or ruleswise). It does look very much as though you've made a list specifically slanted towards your style of play, and as such I personally wouldn't let you use the list against me. EDIT: Oh, and can a mod move this to House Rules? |

Believe me, this isn't my style of play. I field gray seer with screaming bell, no stormvermin and i very rarely include warlord, not to mention Battle Standard Bearer. Oh, and my favorite hero is the Plague Priest and his monks! But, i would like a straight forward 'elite' skaven army list that will saw to our enemies how brave-brave we are. (As i said, this list with little changes i believe that it could represent clan Mors) About slaves now. When i read the brettonian book, i liked the peasant duty rule. A standard which gives no VP if captured! I thought that skaven should have this too. I rule that the slaves must be updated for two reasons. For game effects: To balance them and to stop hearing from ppl here that they are very cheap fighting units. Now a unit of slaves (with shields) will cost about 100 pt and i think they worth it, without become overpowered. And if u field 2 units of clanrats, both units of slaves must have shields! Quite expensive For fluff reasons: Clan Snieek is supposed to be an 'elite' skaven clan which has less numbers but higher efficiency in hth combat. (At first, i had stormvermin stubborn if the warlord is in the unit leading from the front, in their basic Ld of 5 for +1 pt each! I changed it, although it is not so overpowered as it seems) About expendable night runners In their description in the book says that they are used as cannon fodder. I believe that even in the normal skaven list they should be expendable, so they are here. War Rat Ogres are not so important, just an interesting idea (or so i believe ) and i wanted to find out what other ppl would say about them. Also i hate ppl that field 40 jezzails in their armies, and for that i made them cost 2 special choices (i never use them cause i think they r too expensive, except if u field them in large numbers) I add speed in the army if u have a special choice to spent with the warhounds. I believe that this list combines normal and eshin lists very good, and urges the player mostly towards the Warlord option. |

I think this is a very good attempt at making a variant list. However, it does seem a bit overpowered. First, why is the Grey Seer exempt from the 'high ranking' rule? You didn't give any real reason for this except that the clan is an elite warlord clan. It goes against all fluff that a chieftain would be an army general over a Seer. The Council just wouldn't stand for one of their operatives to be submissive to a lowly chieftain. I like the rule for SV being Immune to Panic if hte warlord leads from the front. I think you did a good job here making SV elite. Why bother making NR expendable? It goes against the fluff a little. Clan Eshin may use them as cannon fodder, but they are still a unit hired from the much more elite Clan Eshin. I still think a regular CR would be shaken to see the unit's his boss pays for running from battle, etc. I also really doubt that a more elite NR unit that is scouting would be expendable. Plus, NR units are usually a lot smaller than other units. Hence, they wouldn't cause panic tests anyway. Slaves can be used as a fighting unit? Not effectively. WS 2 means nearly all opponents are hitting on 3s. Their pathetic 5+ save with the mandatory shields still won't give them much staying power. The banner rule is cool, but seems underpriced. Lastly, War Rat Ogres. I just don't like them. They don't fit in with your fluff. This is your only unit of Moulder troops and it is a Rare choice. I don't mean to sound overly negative. I think you got a good start here and with some tweaks it could work out really well. |

the main reason i didnt mention the NR was that i firstly didnt see the rule they got and secondly they ar eusually to small to panic anything anyway, still if you can change this. also with the war rat ogres the main reason i dont like they need only 3 wide is that ogres dont get this they need 4 wide for a rank, i know i shouldnt compare armies but it's just i think it a tad unfair, plus ordinary (if you can call then that) rat ogres dont get 3 for a rank Happy gaming, Dan |

Sry Skarskit, i am new to the forum, at least now the topic is in right place. Ok let me explain sth about that clan. I have thought that the clan got only 1 gray seer, companion and advisor of the clans warlord. That why it is 0-1 gray seer. (If you dont like that, just consider that there are not so may Gray Seers in the clan) It is supposed to be an advisor, not a general, and the clan's warriors have more respect to chieftains than wizards, thats why he does not have the high ranking rule. It is an elite skaven clan after all. Night runners should be expendable. In the armybook clarifies specifically that: These units of fast skirmishers are notorious for the low survivability of their troops. So are slaves. These guys aren't there to win any battles, but to die! As for game effects, all units in 4'' take a panic test if night runners are totally destroyed from shooting/magic or break from combat, no matter the unit strength of that units. Also, ratling gun almost everytime take panic test from fleeing night runners near it. I dont believe that the banner rule in slaves is underpriced. I think that these slaves aren't worthy of the points spend on them, but this clan is supposed to be a small elite force, so a Sniekk army should contain fewer models that the other Skaven Armies. Also the slaves have the option for shields! Why no one is using them? Now u must I made the banner rule to made them worth the points (and cause i liked peasant duty rule, i suppose )As for the Rat Ogre Fluff, i just wanted to give the clan some hitting power, and invite some rules for a new unit (to alter the style of play for normal rat ogres) I want to clarify that they are not Moulder. I have no pestilens or moulder units in clan Sniekk, because the clan has no connection to them. They were moulder many times ago, now they just fit to the fighting style of Sniekk. Pure Choppa! These ogres suffer from stupidity. If they cannot take any ranks, even if they are close to the general, they only have Ld 7, and are too unreliable for they cost of points. So they should take ranks, and cause their bases are larger, they use a 3-model formation/rank. I believe that the OK army works this way, am i wrong? It should be. It is logical. I believe that 54 pt are ok, a balanced price. |

Oh Gnashik, i dont really like war rat ogres myself! But they are good for strategy reasons and people! Open your minds a little! Create Your site is great by the way. Good Job. The story of your warlord looks pretty much to the relationship of Warlord Sven with his old pal Gray Seer Thaout, as i have thought in my clans history. I ll write rules for Warlord Sven (special character) in my next post. I really want to see if ppl will think that he is balanced (or the opposite) |

not usually being one to say this as it is a line for a mod but there is not suppose to be double posting or in your case the first sighting i have had of triple posting. there is a mutate (edit) button near the top of your posts please use this. not wanting to get into the big issues my advice on the list is: change the rat ogres they do not carry halberds or even weapons just blades inplanted in their arms keep the armour though and maybe give them a stat boost for being disciplined (as far as a rat ogre can be) or something. change the warhounds to rat hounds you said there was alot of warpstone about and accidents can happen so just have it that some rats got alittle to close and got a little bit bigger. very good attempt though. Your War ROs cost 54 pts, have either +1 A or +1 S, a 5+ armor save, and suffer from stupidity. Plus they can form ranks at only 3 models wide and gain the SiN bonus to their Ld. Compare this to Armored Rat Ogres from the Hell Pit list. Armor save is the same and they are armed with additional weapons. They do have packmasters but cost over 10 pts more than yours. Mutant ROs from the same list would cost over 5 points more than yours with just the weapon upgrade. Personally, I'd say increase the points. I don't like the 3 model wide rank either. WHy not just use the Armored ROs from the Hell Pit list? Or use the Mutant RO entry to figure out a combo that would represent the War ROs and be priced appropriately. For example, a Mutant RO could have either the of the weapon upgrades for 10 pts plus Brain Transplant would get rid of the packmasters and give them a better WS and Ld and still not suffer from stupidity. You could also figure out how much a 5+ armor save would cost by comparing them to Armored ROs. Just my token's worth. BTW, glad you enjoyed my site. The background fluff is in need of updating. Hopefully I'll get around to it in the next month or so. |

I dont know that list you mention. I dont buy all the time WD. But, if their RO are as you say, then its logical. For 10 pt more, they got packmasters and mine WRO got stupidity. I faced two problems here. Firstly, i want WRO be sth different than moulder, and second, to help the list fight cavarly and high armor save opponents. So str will be needed (globardiers are special, jezzails cost two slots, more elite troops means less points for specialist units). Now, to get 8 rat ogres (so that you could get a rank) you ll need 432 pt, and they ll have Ld 8 with stupidity even if they are near the general! Totally waste of points as in 3 rounds they ll lose 1 stupidity. So, i had to make them cheaper, or change the stupidity rule (which brings me more problems to the cost) So better leave them as they are. I understand from this topic that my list is good, apart from two things (the things more ppl disagree with): Night Runners: not expendable War Rat Ogres: cost, fluff, 3 ranks wide Me, in my battles, i ll play them as i made them, cause i dont believe they are overpowered, just good. Still, if anyone wants to use this army list for a battle, and he doesnt like the night runners beings expendable (for example), then feel free to use them as they are normally. Thank you all for your opinions. |
