I'm looking in the back of the Skaven Army book, and there are ten normal-sized banners next to the two larger ones. My question is, which of them apply specifically to each clan? (There's more than four, so does one represent Clan Mors?) I'm guessing that any with lightning bolts would represent Clan Skyre, the dagger in hand represents Clan Eshin and so on, but what about Moulder and Pestilens? I'd like to start sketching some designs for a Clan Moulder banner, but I'd like to know which symbol is most used to represent them. . . . and what's the deal with the last small banner at the lower right-hand corner? It looks like two banners were sewn together at the last minute. |

Skryre is usually the one with the 3-armed swastika thing (triskelion), moulder is the hand with the whip, and pestilens is a stylized P. |

Quiet, I'm plotting.

The symbol that is now accepted as the Skaven 'logo' (the three lines intersecting) was once just Clan Mors symbol, but has been expanded to include all Skaven in general. |

Unfortunately, the link I'm going to give you is only the main page of the site. It's the same adress for every single page. But follow these steps: http://www.la-tour-blanche.com/index2.htm at the bottom, in the left area, click on "général" and then on "armées" On the big picture of the Warhammer box set that will appear, click on "Skavens" (obviously ).Right over the 1st picture (a clanrat) click on "runes skavens". You should be at the right page now. I will translate the words though: Malepierre = Warpstone Rat Cornu = Horned Rat Conseil des Treize = CO13 Rassemblement des clans ou guerriers des clans = gathering of the clans, or clanrats Skarogne = Skavenblight Cloche = Bell Verminarque = Verminlord the 4 symbols beside one another: warlock engineer, "champion" engineer, master engineer (warlock master?), grey seer Seigneur de Guerre = Warlord Faux (in this context) = Scythe roue = wheel energie Warp = Warp energy (Warp power?) Nain = Dwarf Peste rouge = red pox Ask me if you want me to translate the paragraphs, cause it's a long job and I won't do it if you don't need it. MUTATE: on the banners: The first one is related to magic, though nothing in particular as there are lots of ornaments. The 2nd one could be interpreted as Eshin, though it could mean other things. The 3rd one is the skaven symbol. The 4th one is the "Warp Energy" symbol, so could fit more in Skryre armies. Second row: The 2nd one could arguably be related to the Horned Rat symbol or one of the magic symbols (engineers). The last one is "Warpstone". So they could all fit in any army, though the 4th one, Warp Energy, would probably be better in a Skryre themed army. |

I've seen that before, but in English. However, Bob Lippman's Strategic Headquarters (where I first saw it) isn't at the same web address, if it is even out there at all anymore. However, you can still find the Skaven font download and his Black Ark. *mutters* I knew I should've copied the whole page back then. @ Clayflesh: Did you notice the Mors symbol towards the end of the page? |

I did! It's almost a 'Clan Chaos' design, what with the base being an up-ended Skaven symbol and the eight directions/arrows. I'd never seen that before. That's quite a page. I remember someone asking about a Skaven alphabet in another thread - does anyone else remember? The vowels are a start (naturally as a series of triangles.) OK - Here's how I now see the banners: Row 1 - Co13, Eshin, Clanrats, Warp Power Row 2 - "MINE!", Pestilens, Skyre, Moulder (Warpstone) Row 3 - Big Points Banners, Horned Rat, Grey Seer (maybe) . . . and thank you Mr. 13 for the translation. French is not my *pronounced wrong on purpose* fort. |

No problem and as I said, if you want me to translate more stuff from that page, I'll do it.
pronounced wrong? it really is "le francais n'est pas mon fort" ![]() Also, there are some letters of the alphabet explained in the paragraphs, plus, as you saw, the vowels. And I'm pretty sure the skaven "font" doesn't use the same runes. Though I'd have to double-check that. |
