I'd say no, but I'm biased against Skaven Brew in general. Why waste 50 pts on the item when there is a 1 in 6 chance of getting nothing? I'd rather have another slave unit or 8 more packs of giant rats or another rat ogre or just about anything. The Skaven army has a lot of things that are risky. I, personally, don't care to make my army any more unpredictable than I have to. I take chances when there is a chance of payoff. Getting frenzy/hatred/or both on a unit is not worth 50 pts in my book. You don't even know what you'll get before the battle starts. That means there is a unit that you can't factor into a reliable (for Skaven) strategy before hand. Plus, it totally eats up one characters magical item allowance. So, to sum up: No.

i used it once on ro's and they were the dogs gonads! they obliterated everything, those extra four attacks for the whole unit really helped pay off, and hatred is so damn useful when were dealing with a ro's ws of 3! so i say yh it is well worth it, the only set back is the fact that ur master moulder has to be in the unit he gives it to at the beggining of the battle (but nothing says he cant move out of it on turn one aye!) jmho |

GW, sucking the fun out of the hobby since 1999. Never worry. Worst case scenario you die, and then there was no point worrying anyways. Skaven repaint overhaul Number 5! (2/5th complete)

i agree with the guy above, skaven brew on rat ogres turns them nasty, plus the pakcmasters also get the benefit, making it one of the hardest units in existence. dont believe me? try them and watch em chew through half a chaos army, it isnt pretty. |

But I wouldn't use it on giant rats. The rats are flankers, not close combat monsters and even with Skavenbrew they won't win fights because they have no armour and no command groups. Skavenbrew in general isn't that powerful anymore. Back in 5th edition, when Hatred also gave you unmodified leadership 10 for breaktests... and frenzy doubled your attacks... and rolling a 6 would double your movement value... that was when it was a good item. |

"I have a post-Armageddon vision. We and all other large animals are gone. Rodents emerge as the ultimate post-human scavengers. They gnaw their way through New York, London and Tokyo... within 5 million years, a whole range of new species replace the ones we know. Herds of giant grazing rats are stalked by sabre-toothed predatory rats. Given enough time, will a species of intelligent, cultivated rats emerge?" Richard Dawkins, The Ancestor's Tale

with Giant Rats? no. never. With Rat Ogres? probably... Ive personally NEVER used it because I cant find the points for it. That is the only reason... that and I have a horrible habit of rolling 1's for that sort of thing... It does seem like a useful item though, especially if you roll high Entaro Adun |
