ya thats makes sence. Since there so over powered they should have 1 rule that screws in up. Like for every 1 rolled to wound or hit, the Warpgaurd would take 1 Strength 3-4 ( i have no clue which is more balanced) hit squeeks |

Quiet, I'm plotting.

Heres a crazy idea. What about if when they want to charge, they roll the artillery dice. They can then charge that amount of inches, or, if they get a misfire, can't charge and take 1D6 S4(5?) wounds. Thats the unpredictable nature of Warpstone fueled troops. |

Certainly is colourful. I think that would make them a little useless though, they would need something to compensate. Perhaps an additional attack like frenzy? James |

As they stand, they're over-powered, mainly for the reason Venomclaw gave. It isn't about how they compare to a unit in a different army, it's all about how they compare to YOUR army i.e Skaven. Perhaps dropping their WS to 4 makes more sense, as whilst you can justify High Strength, Toughness (begrudgingly for myself) and Initiative through warpstone-enhancement, it wouldn't make them better fighters; They still live and age like every other rat, and probably quicker due to that same warpstone constitution. You have to remember, there is NO such thing as stable warpstone; Nothing the Skaven have ever done with warpstone has been 100% perfect with no drawbacks. It just doesn't happen. And warp-blades is simply scary to be honest. Maybe you need something along these lines: Warp-Guard - 14pts per model M - WS - BS - S - T - W - I - A - Ld 5 - 4 - 3 - 4 - 4 - 1 - 5 - 1 - 5 Equipment: Heavy Armour, Shields, Hand Weapon Options: May take Halberds at +2pts per model or Great Weapons at +2pts per model. May upgrade one model to a musician at +5pts, one model to a standard bearer at +10pts and one model to a Warpfang at +10pts. May take a magic banner worth up to 50pts. May take a ratling gun weapon team at +60pts, or a warpfire weapon team at +75pts Special Rules: Warp-Weapons - Laden with warpstone, all attacks by Warp-Guard count as magical attacks, reguardless of weapons used. Hatred: Haven't thought of a fluff behind this bit yet rofl, I just thought it'd give them a better edge in the first round of combat, as it's in the prolonged fight they start to be worn down. Insatable Hunger - The enhanced consitution of the Warp-Guard grings with it a hunger that can never be sated. The Warp-Guard may never pursue a fleeing enemy as they stop to feast on the fallen.
