GW, sucking the fun out of the hobby since 1999. Never worry. Worst case scenario you die, and then there was no point worrying anyways. Skaven repaint overhaul Number 5! (2/5th complete) | |

My Pontifex has a flail, Twisted Crown + Warp Scroll, and is riding the Cauldron. And the unit supporting the Cauldron has the Banner of Burning Hatred. If I were to go a Plague Lord as well (in 3k pts+), he would have a plague censor, Liber Bubonicus, Warpstone Amulet + Bands of Power, and would run with a unit of Censer Bearers. Just my two gurgles' worth, |

do NOT give a plaguer lord a warpstone amulet... you have a 1 in 6 chance of him dying, you oppontent getting the victory points + another 100 points for killing your general, do no ever give your general a warpstone amulet... just thought i wouldmake that clear a pontifex should have the crown and/or the eye, then some dispell scrolls squeeks |

yes but i think that the chances of getting a 1 is quite slim, even though i wouldnt give him the warpstone amulet, id give him something else. |

Plague Lord: Flail, Warpstone Amulet. Keep 'em cheap. Pontifex: Dispel Scroll, Power Stone, Foul Pendant. Not sure of the points at this time... |

yey i am back, those who remember me, if not then meh. okay why not give your general a 4+ ward, hmmm, yes he may die of his rapstone after the battle but surely he may die in the battle itself, and if he dies at the end so what, thats what skaven is about. i do not mean this to seem rude or aggresive i am just a little confuzzled by your comment Dan |

on my plague lord i tool him out with a Censer, Liber Bubonicus ,and 2 dispel scrolls...mainly because the group of fellows i play with Love to take hard hitting armies with alot of magic...the plague lord SCARES and wimpy mage in HtH and he can simply hold his own aginst most other fighty lord...all the while the scrolls keep magic down and the breath halps out in the magic phase by inflicting a few kils |

I'd be more skeptical about putting the warpstone amulet onto a traditional warlord than a plague lord. In my experience the warlord has always been a leadership beacon and little more unless I toss him a fellblade and go dueling a demon prince. I don't expect my warlord to get into any challenges he doesn't want to so he doesn't need it and it's just an extra liability. The Plague Lord on the other hand will be up there at the front lines tearing it up as long as he can, so I like to run him with the best protection possible also considering he doesn't have access to the same non-magical armor as a warlord. The chance of dying after the battle balances his additional survivability during the battle and in the sort of games I play that's all that really matters. I have more options for challenges, etc. It's true that the item is a bit of a trap victory-points wise but for me it doesn't really matter. For tournament or campaign play it's something to consider but for casual games, to be honest, I don't really care about what happens after the game in the math.
