well the topic is quite self explainitory, i picked clan pestilens because i liked the idea of a whole plague monk army but could never afford one, now with the whole new army list (b c) and models i began one. |

I liked the idea of a skaven army for the fun side, but didn't want to go down the ratling gun/wlc/jezzail army of cheese route. So it was either the Pestilens or Moulder list in the back if the book - but I like to play tournament legal armies. So when the Lustria book came out it was whoopee time! I've been running a court army for many months now and am loving it. May go for a SoC Eshin list next. cheers Br. Buboe |

I didn't pick Clan Pestilens because I think GW did a terrible job on it. It is very repetitive, and lacks depth. The idea of a Plague Monk army was cool and all, but it needed more depth. Pillz |

I am enamoured with the idea of an army based on religious zealotry. (Odd, since I loath religions in general.) The idea of a mass of fanatics charging and chanting across a battlefield and fighting 'til they are hacked to pieces, singing the praises of whatever deity they are attached to is fantastic. And with Pestilens it is a religion of the armegeddon - sort of. They are bound to a religion that is killling them. The fluff is fantastic. I also have a soft spot for things related to the plague, so there's that, too. That said, I don't play Pestilins because I disliked the older models. I felt they were too "linear." However, now with the newer plastic plaguemonks out, I am thinking on it more and more. Perhaps one day. |

Not particularly. I was just giving my opinion on the army as whole, becasue to me, that seems what the topic is generally implying on a broad scale. I was answering a question more along the lines of "Why would you choose Pestilens?" And I wouldn't. Pillz |

@Boilrot and Mork: cut it... We're not going to pick a fight over a topic.Although I usually add them to my army, I'm most likely not going for a full army. The main reason behind this is IMO a somewhat poor armylist, though I'll still be expanding the clan Pestilence detachment for my warlord clan. Why? They're frenzied, they have a cool background and they're just a pain in the buttoms for my opponent... Greetz |

For me it was the idea of a horde of rotting plague-infested rats charging down the field in a crazy fanatical fasion that caught my eye. I always wanted an army of fanatics and Pestilens gave it to me

I chose pestilens because i pan on have a army for all of the skaven armies as they are released and would really like to master the nuances of each army as its released ...it why i joined UE because you guys have some nice advice on armies and you really helped me out with my eshin...but i digress, i chose pestilens because I like to be able to look my opponent in the eye and say thats 13 attcks coming at you from my 4 wide monks regiment

*Grins* I didn't. Although if I did, it would be because I would be able to use the models in a Nurgle Army as Marauders. |

one thing, Plague monks. the great quality of the new minitures is the best reason to get clan pestilens with the lustrian characters, plague monks and PCB's they are best now to collect. also it means you can have a fairly effective skaven combat army Dan |

i havent but i would for several resons, the most being itd just be so cool to beat my friends lizzardmen with their "fluff" nemesis' for once secondly, i like the models, plus it is possible to make the whole army out of plastic and i despise metal figures.. and lastly cos itd be so cool but seein as im doing an all plastic eshin list atm ill have to wait, and id probaly do moulder before them anyways cause i like the clan more... (and have more of them models:)) |

clan pestilens was my first love in warhammer religious zealotry, tattered robes and poisoned flails did it for me, but most of all it is their superior resilience i love the idea of the frenzied warrior with that absent look of primal fury in his eyes, unthwarted by wounds that would drop the sturdiest barbarian on top of my intuitive inkling towards skaven i for one think the bubonic court list was well done. i have yet to play, but it plan to make 3k, including a cauldron. mutate: and you can make a bubonic court list 90% plastic now which is one of my criteria for startling an army the only metal you need are characters (if you dont want to convert), and possibly bits for a rat spawn, or some metal giant rats till fill out your frothing packs |
