there's nothing dishonorable about picking off the enemy's commanders and skilled personnel from a hidden spot before slinking away.... ..it's damned sensible! What's honorable about being closer to the enemy? or being seen? sure, maybe if you were samurai or friends in times long past or something, then seeing each other is better... ..but when it's you vs them, you should take any advantage that you can get... There's nothing honourable about getting shot! In other news, in a game of cossacks today, our glorious Red Navy sunk 247 enemy warships, and a fishing fleet, only suffering the loss of 22 of our cruisers... This also allowed the two divisions of the red army to cross the continental gap, and wipe out the french town opposing us! In otherwords... damn.... I kicked ass!

Well, I would call the tactics you describe dishonourable, yes. Using stealth, assassinating commanders, fleeing... all that would be considered dishonourable.
I disagree. It can indeed be honourable to get yourself killed rather than be sensible and run away to fight another day. There's all the sayings... "an honourable death"... Of course, you're completely right if you say it's sensible to do these things anyway... I'll be damned if I see the point of fighting honourably. As you say, if it's them or us, better make sure it's them by any and all means. |

"I have a post-Armageddon vision. We and all other large animals are gone. Rodents emerge as the ultimate post-human scavengers. They gnaw their way through New York, London and Tokyo... within 5 million years, a whole range of new species replace the ones we know. Herds of giant grazing rats are stalked by sabre-toothed predatory rats. Given enough time, will a species of intelligent, cultivated rats emerge?" Richard Dawkins, The Ancestor's Tale | |||

*nods* Yes, that's true... I don't have much of an honour system.... Okay, sniping is not honourable... But it is sensible.... |

Besides, when playing with your Skaven, its much fun to be dishonourable, both for you and your enemies. Skaven can be the comedians of the warhammer table, act like it! Shoot your allies #1 unit if it gives you an edge over the enemy, sacrifice units without blinking, and most of all, talk as if you're a grey seer who is sending his loweley minions to a certain death. |

fair enough then. well i consider being honourable a good and desirable quality. bah you will never catch me sniping on any game (bloody campers the lot of you. joking) as thats what i am talking about not going off to assassinate anybody real. i do agree much less fuss and easier but thats the whole point: you struggle and come out on top so you deserve something. my morals are too much about knights of old. honourable hand to hand combat. strike for strike. deadlocks where you can see right into the eyes of your enemy. it is not sensible but then not much is. it is a trade off for a good character. some one people are willing to trust and respect as it kind of spreads into being trustworthy and not lying and cheating and stealing and much more. i have have said that skaven seem the complete opposite of me as a person. the only thing in common is the comedy. no awps for me thank you. i would rather try and knife you to death. although i would probably die alot it would be much more fun and i would feel much better for it personally. oh and then when i do i will be able to laugh and shout "humiliation" in a quake style voice. i play games to have fun. does not matter if i die i am just looking to do some cool kills and just enjoy myself. that is why i am not much for completing many games just playing them for a while and having a good time. i play life to have fun. Life should be played for fun, or else you're just wasting it. And I agree that in shooter games, the campers are the worst. |

oh, aye in games, it's far more fun playing as the badass vietnam sargeant with a shotgun and some grenades and a damned big machete, than sniping.... But in REALITY, I wouldn't even be close enough to snipe.... suffice to say that one of the only beliefs I share with Josef Stalin is this view: "Artillery is the king of warfare!" ![]() Remember kids, a 1% chance of getting hit is 1% too many! |

it's important that you come out on top, the struggle is just a waste of energy.....when fighting, conserve as much energy as you can.... you'll never know when the next is waiting for you.... |
