I still have yet to see wd 309 (us) as they mucked up my subscription, but think about this -after this issue they wont say much about them for some time me thinks. What if were all into wood elvs and were enjoing the extra coverage? Other than that it is getting a bit old. I would join you in the rant some more but I love thoes dryads. |

Meh, it's always happened, it's probably always going to. Every single new army...why can't they just do one batrep, one painting article and maybe a tactica? So they're new. Doesn't mean everyone is interested at all. It's not like the new WEs are particularly nice anyway, with their Donkey Riders and Pidgeon Surfers. The characters abd the dryads are the only models that really stand out to me. <_< Still, we got a gnoblar army list. Now THAT was a good article...and the empire knights thing was interesting too.As for Lotr...don't even get me started on lotr. "Oh look, New Line are doing a trilogy of movies based on Tolkein's books. Hey, there's a bandwagon. All aboard!" |

Those are the best models but you don't like the wardancers they're some of the coolest elf models around. |

Pole dancing Wardancers? Surfing Warhawk Riders? I'm surprised the Wild Riders aren't doing handstands or something. Much of the army looks pretty ludicrous... like something out of a circus. The dryads do look pretty cool, but only because they are fairly daemonlike. |

blackgobbo is just a list of articles they add to the website... you can tell this by the fact that you go into the game then the race and you see them listed without blackgobbo's credit... whitedwarf as a hobby publication hasnt been around for awhile yes... its turned into "pimp our current line" which is fine but also at the same time you see it also alienate your market as people are no longer focused on the hobby part... at the same time hobby mags dont sell too well when not marketed right... good example is specialist games... i still dont understand why gw cant take these market of basicly ideas that couldnt be put into a codex or armybook and release them when you get a full mag... and have the smaller items in a hobby mag lotr vol blah space marines vol blah very simular to chapter approve pubications... very simular to skirmish supplment... etc etc while it make for more book keeping it makes collecting an army easier for those who dont own everything... wait there it is thats the trouble... you are supposed to collect an army for everything... i get it now... silly me. seriously tho gw has shown they "hold fast" when they want to and "hold fast" when people complain... referance to mah old sig yes? personally i love the drift 40k is finally going towards back to its old rogue trader days a little with "kill teams" necromunda always to me was the best game around but its popularity and the fact after a while it gets old... like some pc rpgs where it starts to feel like hack and slash... *snicker* and look foward to seeing a simular move with warhammer *knock on wood* but it comes to the time that whitedwarf really is a marketing tool to sell their armies and asking them to do anything else would be stupid... they have to pimp their current line and if you dont like their current line tough hope the few other items stack up for you... if not o well d99, i find it rather ironic you complain about woodelfs... yet look foward to dwarfs... |

They are bussinessmen. And if Sergio Leone's "Once upon a time in the West" has tought me one thing, is that bussinessmen are no real men.
God I love that film *goes watching it again* |

sn'keep, read my one of my previous posts, I would prefer that dwarfs get one white dwarf, and thats it. I prefer to read about every race, and keep the contents of white dwarf flowing.
*d99, merely pointing out that if dwarfs got this much attention based on a few words you wrote eariler... you would have had no problem with it... thats the ironic part... im not implying anything else just the small humor :)* ~s'nkeep |

I agree with you, D99. I think that if they mixed it up a bit, didn't do Wood Elves in EVERY Issue, but split it up a bit, maybe mix in some random stuff like you said earlier, it would make it much moe fun. My brother has been waiting for Wood Elves to come out for, well, years, perhaps 3 or something... He enjoys all the attention... <_< |

I get WD as it is the only decent WH monthly publication I can get my hands on. If I had a choice though, there would be seperate 40K and Fantasy suppliments, with LotR as a bi-monthly thing. These would reduce the size of the magazine, but it would be able to include articles on all the armies, and include all the buisiness stuff that GW have to include. If GW spread out, and actually looked into other forums bar their own, then they would find some good stuff, as they could get into contact with a whole buch of people who don't want to submit their articles to WD, but do want to post their views on certain items. but meh, like any of this would ever happen. |
