First of FW's Nid releases for the forthcoming Amphelion Project campaign book due spring 06. A Tyranid TRYGON. The Ordo Xenos complex scenery is up on FW's site currently. From what Tony Cotterell said in the seminar expect a Space Hulky style set of rules for this campaign book. Sounds very LV 426 to me. Can't wait

    * Ordo Xenos Inquisitor team (no Deathwatch most likely special character =I=)
    * Red scorpion SM's (expect Veteran armour and weaponry from FW for these)
    * Cadians.

Having just got back from Gamesday and reading the NEW Dwarf Armybook to try and memorize as much of it as I could, i'll try to answer some of the rumours

Firstly, the Anvil has now become a warmachine and as such, none of it's affects are spells. You simply roll the dice, choose if you want normal (2+ to work) or Ancient power (4+ to work) and if successful it works. If you fail as said the result is a misfire, I cannot remember exactly what happens but I know there are only three possibilities on the chart and a 1 or 2 is destroyed killing the Runelord and the guards. Secondly I believe none of the anvil's powers save the magic missle one has a range.

As for Dwarf Miners, yes they are no longer 0-1 I believe and yes they do now deploy similar to Tunnelling teams and YES you can use the Anvil's movement on them as well. New rules for miners as well. Can now be equipped wiht Demo Charges. When charged may stand and shoot, causing D6 Strength 6 Flaming attacks. There is another factor to this I am unsure of. Secondly, the Miner champion may purchase a "Steam Drill." This ups the Great Weapons affect from +2 Strength to +3 Strength, there is also something else to do with it in helping them tunnel but I cannot remember.

As for Rangers, Ranger I know for sure are not 0-1 anymore and any unit that has a Great Weapon maybe upgraded to Rangers from what I read. Yes, ANY unit as long as they have great weapons, appart from Slayer Weapons.

As for Engineers, yes Engineers are now upgrades like O&G bullies. Bolt Throwers get to re-roll the to hit dice using engineer's BS and may also re-roll misfire results if I recall. Master Engineers (Hero Choices) Upgrade Cannons from D3 to D6 wounds. Something else which I cannot recall and as said before make 1 war machine they join extra defended.

The Gyrocopter (spelling?) also got a slight change. Now has Unit Strength 3 and 2 str 4 attacks.

Longbeards Grumble has changed to any Non-fleeing unit within 6" of them may re-roll failed Panic Tests.

Hammers are now ALWAYS stubborn and if a Lord joins them become immune to Fear and Terror too.

Also they have some new runes but I can only remember 3, the main 3 that appealed/caught my eyes. Master Rune for weapons makes any wound suffered from the weapon turn into D6 wounds.
Rune that can be inscribed on Great Weapons. Makes the Great weapon keep it's abilities even if inscribed with further runes. This is not a master run.
A rune for standards that I cannot remember is master or not. Once per a game the unit with this rune may choose to roll only ONE dice for a break test.

Thats all I can remember for now, sorry for spam all and if it's hard to read...

EDIT: I just remembered the Anvil has two other powers to those stated now. One makes selected unit Immune to Fear and Terror unit next turn and the other makes the unit cause Fear unit next turn. I am unsure about second actually.. but it is def something along those lines.

EDIT EDIT EDIT: man this games day was excellent. some info on the tau:

the vespid are those bug like thingngs, that have s4 ap 3 weapons, and suposedly their template weapons. their marine killers, but like all tau units, are not so great in close combat. the fire warriors stay with the same models, new plastic stealth suits, they fixed the crisis suits, new etereals, and some other stuff.

Good report, lots of cool new info. (for me at least, but then I play Dwarfs.) And this section seems just fine to me for this kind of stuff.

Lots of good news for a dwarf player. The army sounds like it'll become more interesting to play, which is always good. I like my Dwarfs as they are, sure, but I admit they are a bit bland. The new miners sound far more interesting than they currently are.

They gnaw their way through New York, London and Tokyo... within 5 million years, a whole range of new species replace the ones we know. Herds of giant grazing rats are stalked by sabre-toothed predatory rats. Given enough time, will a species of intelligent, cultivated rats emerge?"

Have I got the wrong end of the stick or are they re-releasing tau???? I hope they're not, as they're alerady one of the newest armies. They should re-release the Eldars, no Orks first.

Those Tau look really weird, they look like a tyranid tau hybrid.
And that forgeworld ravener thing looks so sweet.

Hey, they're actually pretty cool! There seems to be something crisp and 'delicate' about the details. Is it just me, but i'm getting a 'feel' to the designs that is more "Nordic faeries" and less "fantasy dwarves with viking elements" of the old style, very similar to the design revamp of the wood elves. Probably part of GW's current focus more on bringing in the fairytales and mythology over the sword & sorc high fantasy.

*sigh* And I gotta wait until May for GD Toronto... *walks off grumbling about crappy delays...*

Looks as though you had fun though.

EDIT: Is it just me or is the Tau quickly becoming the GW child of the 40K series?

Those dwarves look much more grim than the old ones (like the new bretonnians) and more norse-like (unlike bretonnians).

They look good though.

I love em, hehe me collect skaven and orgs and gobblins, dwarfs hate both of those, i hope they dont fight in my case....
GW, sucking the fun out of the hobby since 1999.

Never worry. Worst case scenario you die, and then there was no point worrying anyways.
