Does anyone here remember their first ever game of Fantasy. I remember mine.

My friend and I used the armies from the current starter set. I was Orcs. It was hilarious.

"The cannon kills that ebteir unit becasue I rolled a 6."

"You always need 4's to hit and 4's to wound"

"My chariot hits your guys and automatically kills 7."

"I walk into your guys and start attacking."

We didn't know the rules... but I got my butt kicked!

Dude, if I was stuck in the middle of nowhere with an exact copy of myself I wouldn't kill him. That'd be so wierd i'd just be like "yo dude... got any pot?"

My first ever game of warhammer??. I think it was a game that I had with my Brother and 2 of his friends. He told me that they knew the rules but I dont think they did (T3 chaos warriors?!?! <_< ). We used the old old started set with the brets and the lizzies, I had chaos and my brother had woodies.

The first ever game I had of 40k was using the long dead rules. It must have been like 1st ed for 40k, there were about 4 rule books, it took days to finihs games and you had to think hard about weither you could really be bothered to shoot at a tank or not.
Chuck Norris is ten feet tall, weighs two-tons, breathes fire, and could eat a hammer and take a shotgun blast standing.

It takes Chuck Norris 20 minutes to watch 60 Minutes.

On his birthday, Chuck Norris randomly selects one lucky child to be thrown into the sun.

Chuck Norris doesn't believe in Germany.

Scientists have estimated that the energy given off during the Big Bang is roughly equal to 1CNRhK (Chuck Norris Roundhouse Kick)

Hm, first battle you say? Must be that time when Elethis owned my orcs with his beastmens. Darn ambush rule... <_<
We are living on this world on rented time and now we can't pay the rent
We have thrown out our garbage into the corridor and we have clogged the toilet
We have annoyed the neighbors and we have pissed off the landlord
We have stolen all the wares from the nature and we have poisoned our veins with greed
We have powered our hearts with a false promise that we aren't so bad and we have told ourself that everything happens for reason
We say that we will be forgiven and that all we do will ok when we die
We do not deserve to be spared and we deserve to burn
For the anquish we have caused this world
We deserve to burn

My first battle went a bit weird.

My friend told me he'd teach me the game and brought 2 1000 pts armies. A chaos one and a Undead one. "Pick one" he said. After I picked the skeletons we got started. - please note, in order to even the match for the much weaker undead he gave me a vampire lord on a zombie dragon XD - Needless to say; my vampire rolled over his entire army.

Highlight of the game though was a skeleton unit champion beating a chaos knigth champion in a challenge.

First game was with the old starter set. I was the brets and my brother was the Lizardmen. He cheated alot and I was crushed. It took me a good 3 years to learn he was cheating me and I didnt win a game until then.

My first battle was with my beloved Druchii against the goblins...of course being a newbie I had no idea about fanatics, giants, gobbo mages and stone throwers so I got massacred. That was a great fun game, I've played goblins a number of times since never losing once, which is a shame because I think a victorius goblin army is the most hilarious thing in the warhammer world...apart from Asur who are just a joke.

Mine was 20 clanrats and like 30 brets (mostly bowmen) against a huge skaven/highelf army. We didn't know any rules (we actually made up our own rules), and my ally gave up and went home after the first turn. I died on the second.

The first game I played was against my brother with the starter set a bit after i9t came out, in 2000-2001. Our shooters tried to take out each other's combat unit. I got more lucky, crushed both his unit and his captain with all my CC stuff. Then I approached his handguners/canon and he gave up as we had something to do soon after.

Funny thing is, we still have these armies but last time I played orcs against his empire at 1500 points, his helblaster shot 30 hits (misfire 6) at my big'uns and 14 shots (long range!) at my boar boyz. I gave up in 3rd turn :(

My first game was with my 4th edition starter set. There was 4 of us playing. I co-generaled the HE and my other two friends played the gobbos. We played the scenario that came with the box that used the cardboard standups to represent a bolt thrower, Grom, an Orc on a Wyvern and a HE on a Griffon. The starter set didn't even have any real rules for magic. It didn't take us long to start thinking about our own armies and for me to get the Battle Magic box. Ah, the good ol' days.

I just bought a couple bags of bases, layed them out and told my opponent what they were.

He played VC, I played TK. It was bad... I had no idea what army selection was all about. He ripped me apart... It was a sad day. He was such a jerk about it that it hardened my resolve to learn to play just so that I could come back later and kick his (*&#$(*&.

Never got the chance though. A month later he got married and was drunk on the way to their hotel they drove off a cliff...

I forgot about that till just now... what a sad life... I'm sad now...

The Unlovable Lurker

Of course I remember mine, mostly due to how sad and pathetic it was. It was back in the day, when my friend had the mutated conception that if you converted it, you could use it in your army. So he natually had an undead army, with half-arse painted dwarfs and empire and claimed he could have canons.

That aside, he was fielded to the left side of the field. His undead minions behind a rather large mountain that sported a great canon and an organ gun. To the right side of the battle field was a High Elf army chock full of archers, bolt throwers and mages. Then there was myself in the middle. 9 Black Orcs, Grimgor[though I hadn't yet known his special rules], and 16 Orc Boyz.

I don't even think we finished. No, they didn't wipe me out that fast. It was more of a way to get me to know the rules, so they had let me bring back my army once it had been wiped out. Suffice it to say, my friend did begin to fear Grimgor once I got the army book, but it wasn't for awhile I that I had acquired a strong force.

My first battle was with my brother and my uncle, who knew all the rules and already had about five armies, taught us how to play with his orc and high elf armies. It was pretty fun, I think I might have won, I'm not sure. But for some reason my brother had some fear of my goblin wolf riders and shot them on his first turn until they all died. He thought they were good or something, little did he know they suck compared to the other much more viable targets in my army. Sucker............... :P

okay, I have 3 first games...

first: 1996, 5th ed starter box:

My guy is better, so I beat your guy... i am better than your 3 guys, so they all die...

I lost, because I gave up because it was impossible for my guys to be better than his... so i kicked his ass in real life :P

my first game using some actual rules (2003 february-ish): VS IaMtHeFlYiNgBeAvEr (from COTEC and other forums)

I got my ass kicked... I was using an unbalanced list (in his favour), and he just had a cheesy illegal list :P that was followed up by 30 straight losses... now I kick his chaos's ass whenever I play them :P

first game with terrain and most of the rules being correct (july 2003): My dark elves VS high elves, 1500 points:

I had horrific rolling, I didn't know about manticores being able to hide behind cover... it hurt a lot... and he's a great tactician (kicked my chaos's ass yesterday with his lizzies.... rolling was on his side though). He also just hid on his side while my x-bowmen ran up the field... (I completely sucked then... I won 1/10 games... now I win 7-8/10 games :P)

My first game was back in the day (i.e. 4th or maybe early 5th ed.) Everything is a bit hazy but I'm pretty sure it was me and one of my friend playing O&Gs with a Skaven contengent (he was Gobbos I was Skaven) playing against another friend playing High Elves. We won. ( I think...) After that, and a few small games, I didn't play for a while. My first game under 6th ed. rules was a 1500pts. Skaven vs. High Elves, with my rats absolutly dismantling his elves :D. Though now that I think of it half my army also dismantled itself. ^_^
