I'm sure this has been answered before but with regards to the mainstay rule are weapon teams all considered the same or not ? What I mean is I use a standard (none clan) army and recently fielded 2 units of clan rats with ratling guns and a unit of storm vermin with a WFT against an Ogres army (got beaten badly) however my oppontent asked if my list was legal as I had 3 weapon teams and only 2 clan rat units. I thought it was okay as I only fielded 2 units of any one type (ratling guns) and one of another (WFT) however thinking about it I can see his point. Its not a big thing and hes not bothered if I made a mistake ( with a massacre against me why would he be!!), but at least i would get a remacth for having to rewrite my list!!! |

wep teams arent units, if your look in your skaven book each unit has a description of the mainstay rule. The wep teams dont have that. on the side bit of the book under the 'CORE UNITS' bit it says 'The Number of Giant Rat units in an army must always be equal to or less then the number of Clanrats units in the army.' and below that 'The number of Night Runner units in an army must always be equal or less than the number of Clanrats units in the army.' It doesn't say anything like that about wep teams, I guess theyre treeted like upgrades to the unit and therefore arent affected by mainstay. thats a bit hard to understand but I hope it helps |

Yup, that's my opinion too, since they are more of attachments than units of their own right. They are still technically units, but not independent ones, and so the mainstay rule doesn't seem to affect them. |

Does the mainstay unit rule affect on stormvermins and rat swarms cause the book doesn't say that number of SV or RS units in army must always be equal to or less then the number of Clanrats units in the army. But when reading the special rule it says:" For example if you have one unit of clanrats, you can include one unit of globadiers, one of stormvermin..." |

SV and Rat Swarms are 0-1 anyway so it doesnt really matter But the Mainstay rule in the Warlord clans part says: The number of Clanrat units in the army restricts the maximum number of multiples of any other unit that can be included in the army.' So I guess that they forgot to put the reminder on the army selection pages. |

yeah... they really are attachments. I don't count them as units. And anyway, if you have this problem, mayhaps your army is a wee bit cheesy...? |
