A roll of 9-10 for the Screaming Bell does dmg to models with Toughness 7, Empire Steam Tanks, and Buildings. There is a problem with this though ... NOTHING has toughness 7 (pending magic items ... i didn't check those)!!! Even the Greater Daemons of Chaos only have Toughness 6, so, in effect, a roll of 9-10 on the Screaming Bell is useless unless your enemy has a Steam Tank or you're playing in a siege (where you're the attacker). What the heck... I don't think we want to roll an extra dice or two just to get a roll that is really the same as 1-3 (No Effect). What was GW thinking?! ... |

I was wondering about that myself. I suppose you should roll three dice anyway so you could get a 13! But yea, its crap except in a seige, then it OWNS.

Guys guys... Every non-skaven warmachine has To7 ( Skaven warmachines have To6...makes you wonder why..eh.eh.eh???);) So a roll of 9 or 10 can be very devastating to an army relying heavily on warmachines. I once played my brothers all gobbo army when fielding a Screaming Bell. Threw 9 or 10 twice. I believe it killed 6 war machines. I believe the '9-10 section' in the book only mentions the Steamtank and structures because it does more damage then the standard D3 to those. Then there's the insanely costy To7 Chaos Mammoth too... So not really a 'big cock-up by GW' .. unless you mean the creation of the insanely overpowered Bell itself. :ph43r: |

You Should see the effect on an empire or dwarf gunline. It makes them cry, hehe. Oh and Zombie pirates, the look of horror on your opponents face as he looks at his Big Bess. |
