Heya,

Adding a warpfire thrower.. just wanna check i understadn how to use it correctly..

i point, roll artilery, move template, those under template are hit.. those partialy under are hit on 4+..

when rolling to wound.. S5 vs model's toughness

for each wound successful, roll d3 to see how many wounds model recieves (pretty much only if have more than 1 wound per model)

correct?

Yes, but I think that damage d3 is only used on characters and single models or chariots that have several wounds, not in units that have example 20 models in it.

Aye, I'd always hoped that D3 would flow over into other models in the unit, but alas, I'm pretty sure it doesn't <_<

also u only cause the d3 wounds on characters and such after they have failed their saves. i think yes/no?
GW, sucking the fun out of the hobby since 1999.

Never worry. Worst case scenario you die, and then there was no point worrying anyways.

That is correct. You deal D3 wounds AFTER the armour save has been failed.

Just a couple of things that can be easy to forget when first using a WFT. When you stand and fire at chargers roll the dice & move the template BEFORE your opponent moves the chargers. Also, don't forget that it causes a Panic test if you cause a casualty.

Have fun! ^Warpfire^

Just a small point. As the shortest range you can have for a WFT is about 10", with only the last 3-4" inches really making much of a difference, and just as much chance that the range is going to be a good bit more, say 14-18", standing and shooting with a WFT isn't going to do much good against most chargers that aren't cavalry at full charge range. I would say the chance of self-distruction outways the benefit of shooting. (although the chance of panicing a uni charging at you is is tempting.)

Though, if you blwo yourself up, it becomes a failed charge and they cannot overrun into anything behind.
