I second that. People constantly try to back rumors with things GW employees have said, and its still very often incorrect. Most GW employees don't have insider information, they just hear some rumor from the HQ and pass it on, its not confirmed because someone in a red shirt says it. In fact, most rumors the avrage GW employee tends to spread are wrong in my experience. As for the starter box, I think there will be one army in there that will be easy to identify with. Like the Empire or Brettonians, since they are humans, or the High Elves since they are cleary good and very human like in apperence. Dwarfs are on the edge of that, most people will recognize them and and so, but I'm not sure how interesting poeple would find them. For the evil side undead seems right, so Dwarfs and Vampires would be my guess. I don't think they would use Chaos or any of the new races, the new races has enougha attention, and chaos has always been a popular race and in the spotlight, and distributing the attention a bit is good for profit. |

Really im suprised no one mentioned Beasts of chaos Vs Woodelfs Could be like a defence of athel loren kind of thing with beasts trying to claim that tree thing in the middle that seems like a pretty good scenario to me only i dont know if beasts skirmishing and ambushing would be a bit complicated for newbies opulis

well... they got a small campaign during SoC so it could be a lead for the 7th ed but i think that Nagash will be the main character of the edition... his rise (again) shall matter to all IMO plus the woodies just got updated right now, if they planed doing the woodies again for 7th eition they 1) would have waited but tht seems bizar cause all the races wee going to be redone or 2) they would have updated them as one of the first armies. it seems to unlikely that they will update the woodies again for 7th ed if they just did them as one of the last armies... |

I wouldn't say Woodies, as they just came out. GW isn't going to revise something that just came out. |

It just may be a "Dwarves" vs. "Denizens of the Deep" sort of boxed set configuration, similar to "Battle of Macragge" for 40K. This would be sort of nice actually, a "Karak Eight Peaks" campaign setting & would pit these new dwarf plastics vs. perhaps goblins - new spider riders perhaps and a revised "Scarsnik & Gobbla" model & a "Troll Cave Slave unit with handlers" similar to Rat Ogre Units??? or just a Moulder Sprue thrown in to make sure the $79.99 price tag is acceptable!?! Just mere speculation but viable rumors have been circulating
