:ph43r: i've been thinking as to how i would tool up one of clan eshins finest, and cannot decide on what to give him. I would have him hunting via skitterleap and cannot choose between the weeping blades and warpstone throwing stars. I have 45 points exactly to play with, what would you do? I most humbly request your assistance on this matter most urgent. Now hurry quick-quick! Seerlord Tisqueek

Well if you only have 45 pts the option must be weeping blades as Warpstone stars are 50pts. Anyway assassins are suposed to be up close and personal. Its your NR that are cowardly and run the flanks |

It's only a magic item, so it's easy to change.. The point cost is virtually identical. So: Try both! Then you can see for yourself what you like best. Or change it around, depending on the opposition you face. E.G. if you expect vulnerable characters to hang about, the weeping blade is good so you can charge/skitterleap into combat even if they're in a unit and assassinate them. (remember to bring your smokebombs if you try this.) But if you fight an army with powerful warrior heroes such as Chaos, you might be better served with the Warpstone Stars so you can dog the heels of a unit of Chaos knights or Daemons or so and slowly shoot the unit to bits without them ever getting you in their charge arc. |

"I have a post-Armageddon vision. We and all other large animals are gone. Rodents emerge as the ultimate post-human scavengers. They gnaw their way through New York, London and Tokyo... within 5 million years, a whole range of new species replace the ones we know. Herds of giant grazing rats are stalked by sabre-toothed predatory rats. Given enough time, will a species of intelligent, cultivated rats emerge?" Richard Dawkins, The Ancestor's Tale | |

Skaskrit's suggestion is very good. For my two warp-tokens worth, I'd go with the Warpstone Stars. I don't like giving up the extra attack that he has with the add. wpn and those are poisoned to boot. The stars give him extra shooting attacks which is a better trade IMO.. |

Warpstone stars allow you to try and kill lone characters before you even have to charge in, therefore I prefer them. I hate whifing, and not killing that lone hero when you get the chance, so therefore I always prefer to prevent that in anyway possible, and extra attacks before you charge in seem to be the best thing. Losing a attack also is bad, as someone mentioned before me. |

well if youre planing on hunting vulnerable heroes, weeping blade is probably the way to go because most people will put them inside of a unit however, mages are often outside a unit so you can use the stars against them, it all depends on the opponent really, but i would take the blade just to be safe since if they ARE outside of a unit you can still charge them |

I prefer the blade. Skitterleap into or near an enemy wizard, attack. You have a better chance of hitting. Try both though... that is just my opinion. |

warpstone stars all the way. With weeping blades, if you whiff, you will likely be dead. And also, if not playing with the special list, you wont be able to skitterleap in hth. With the stars, you get 3 great shooting attacks that do wonders against monsters, chariots and swarms, and keeping you out of hth. My stars assassin always paid his points and proven invaluable. |
