Warhammer: Total War; it's very possible

What do you think about that? Namco bought that idea and it;s going to make that game.probably the first armies in the game will be skaven (!!!!!), imperium, high elfs, and all kinds of chaos. It will look like total war games not like warcraft III or dawn of war. IMO it will kill warhammer fantasy battles won't it?

This thread wasn't too far down Skaven on PC

There shouldn't be any concerns for killing WHFB, it's a radically different thing altogether. The computer game wouldn't be replacing the board game, if anything it only complements it. For starters, it can't replace the painting, modelling, fluffing, collecting, dsplaying etc part of the game, and it doesn't offer the same thrill of hands-on tabletop gaming. It's just a computer game, and a whole lot of us would most likely be getting it, but we're not gonna stop playing with our little rat figures just coz of it.

Thread, ermm... still open.

Chaos git
Personaly I think Warhammer total war would be a misstake. People have played Rome quite alot. If they just do some ripoff from that less people will be interested. They should aim to do something new and inovative, not that invovation is really the favorite topic of game designers.

More grey every day.
Keeping with the theme....

I don't think any computer game could replace the tactile experience of playing warhammer.. and this is from a long-time computer gamer who is only recently a warhammer player. Computer gaming trends are in a constant state of flux, and things like interface standards, graphical capabilities and even operating system changes ensure that computer versions have a very limited life span.

Shadow of the Horned rat ... cool at the time but really rough looking now. Terrible 3D.
Dark Omen ... better 3d, but doesn't render correctly on my current set of computers (big texture chunks missing.) Like SotHR, very dated looking.
Final Liberation ... won't even run on a WinXP box.
Space Hulk ... your best bet is to run the amiga version in emulation.

There are others, but I didn't like the demos enough to buy them...
So old. So so old.
