I know this doesn't help but ... I have no clue. If he can though, I'm skitterleaping his tail behind enemy lines as I've thought about this too :D

Surley he can skitter leap then throw the orb anyways? i mean u can normally skitter leap an assassin behind lines and throw stars, why not orbs?
GW, sucking the fun out of the hobby since 1999.

Never worry. Worst case scenario you die, and then there was no point worrying anyways.

Of course he can throw the Brass Orb after being skitterleaped. Skitterleap is in the magic phase which is then followed by the shooting phase. Brass Orb is a thrown weapon, so can clearly be thrown.

The question though is whether or not he can use both his Warplock Pistol and Brass Orb at the same time. I'm gonna have to say no. You're not gonna be shooting if your lobbing a particulairly sensitve and destructive weapon of destructive like the Brass Orb.

common sense and decency to your oppononent dictate no clearly
and technically it is no also, since you can only fire 1 weapon in the shooting phase, and the brass orb is a magical weapon. the story's different with the warpscroll, however :ph43r: :ph43r: :ph43r:
In victory, thy glory on earth
In death, thy glory in heaven
Arise, therefore, Warrior
With thy Soul ready to fight!

That makes sense. Another skaven player had told me that he could, because the brass orb was a one use only magic item, it did not count as having "shot" a missle weapon".

Well, I never take the pistol in the first place! :P
But looking at the rules, I would say that you can't use both, you can only use one ranged weapon in each shooting phase. :globe:
Also, use the brass orb against lizardmen, this guy at my club has them and ive killed his Slann mage priest no fewer than 3 times! finally my magic was working again!
of course, then my engineer who had it got vapourised in his next turn by his own warp lightning... bah...

I dont know, I dont think theres anywhere in the rule book saying that you can't.

For sportsmanship I'd not do it unless you can prove that theres nothing saying that you can't do it.
Chuck Norris is ten feet tall, weighs two-tons, breathes fire, and could eat a hammer and take a shotgun blast standing.

It takes Chuck Norris 20 minutes to watch 60 Minutes.

On his birthday, Chuck Norris randomly selects one lucky child to be thrown into the sun.

Chuck Norris doesn't believe in Germany.

Under shooting in the BRB (page 58 to be percise) it states that "Unless otherwise mentioned, each model can only make one shooting attack in each Shooting phase" and in the entry in the Skaven book it says that the Brass Orb follows the rules for Death Globes, under Death Globes it says that "The character can throw one Globe per shooting phase." (pages 37 and 39) Thusly Death Globes count as a shooting attacks and as Brass Orbs follow the rules for Death Globes they also count as shooting attacks and therefore you cannot use the Brass Orb and a Warplock Pistol in the same Shooting phase.
Further more the arguement that it can be used because it is a magic item would mean that any magic item can be used during the magic phase as that follows you would be able to make extra HtH attacks with magic swords during the magic phase and there is no way that is legal. Anyway I hope that is helpful. ^_^

p.s. I agree that a lot of the time it is not the best use of points to give Engies pistols.

Agreed on that one - no Death Globes or Brass Orb for pistol-wielding warlocks. That's why I don't bother with the pistol...too many points for too little effect.
