Here are a couple pics that I have. I will post others as I get them uploaded and when I figure out what is wrong with my camera.

Edit: It all hates me, and the site looks funky, but the pics are here

I will update this when I have pics of the rank/file troops and characters

Edit: Added pics of heavy Cav and more giant/catapault pics

I am still looking for one an appropriate size. I want to hang the ball either from the tail of the scorpion or just above the display board.

More grey every day.
I am dragged kicking and screaming back to the 70's. Truly the ghost of Donna Summer has inhabited your hierophant.

I think the whole concept is really funny and amusing- the concept could win a player's favorite army award or something.. but it is really badly painted and executed..

I want to remain a well-liked member of under-empire so if i am too critical please do tell me..

i have a feeling that because your painting skill may not be up to par, you fall back on using funny themes so that way people find your army amusing..

when i first heard disco tk kings.. i thought you probably modelled sunglasses on the skeletons, added some empire clothes to them for disco clothes, added some hair or something.. but still painted them to a good standard etc

the capult doesnt even look like its a capault. (disco ball would be good in the capult but anyway)..

i would suggest with your next army.. maybe try cool it with the theme.. and focus more on painting.. for example.. why not paint all your units the way they really should look.. and then when you got your painting skills set.. you could add the small details to add the theme such as mousketter hats etc?

my idea of a themed army would maybe to make the army actually look like an army.. but with a *touch* of the theme.. you know like have all the tomb kings stuff actually be recongziable.. but then add nice disco features.. like disco ball for capult.. disco suits on champs and characters.. glitter here and there.. colored bases (but with something on bases.. not just paint)

so that way you get creative with the theme but its more of an impressive detail one can observe when looking closely at the army

but of course if you just care about playing games with your group of friends.. and dont have any aspirations to play in tournies or other game events outside your group of friends- then all's good :)

you are an inspiration to us all to come up with fun themed armies as they are crowd pleasers. if i could only come up with a theme I could really get into...

I guess I don't get what you are trying to say here... What do you mean by "the way they should look"?

As opposed to looking like a what? I don't really understand what you are saying here either.

-----------------

You are perfectly entitled to think that the army sucks, but in its defense, you cannot see the rank and file or the detail. Specifically, seen in person, the catapault is obvious what it is, the bases are textured, the details are brought out. The pictures do suck, but thier goal was to show the idea, not the details.

(I will try to get better pics one of these days, I think you would like the champions' disco suits)

I specifically requested the pics and I like 'em! They're not gonna win a golden demon, but I'm sure they are a riot to field, and opponents probably get a big kick out of them.

I would fight an army of Disco Tomb Kings any day over an army of unpainted metal and plastic. Thanks for posting them fib... I enjoyed it.

Hi,

Yeah I knew it wasnt a great idea to offer criticsm.. Im sorry for any hurt feelings or putting you on the defensive..

I will agree with you that the pictures arent really good and it defentily affected my opinion of the army's appearance.

Again I stress that the concept and theme is really cool and a crowd pleaser

When i said that the army should be painted as they really look.. if i can explain it better, i will try :)

for example. the skeletons and undead horses.

paint them like regular skeleton colors like in army book or any other slight variant schemes from white dwarf etc.. yanno, white, bone, ink, drybrush etc..

and for the disco touch.. add just a little gold or glitter here and there.. or even better use converted stuff like you did.. they are really cool- i just think they would look great on regular colored skeletons

im just saying this because when i think of regular disco scenes.. i see regular people with regular skin tones and stuff.. except that they are doing disco moves and wearing disco stuff.. you know? i didnt imagine them being colored completely green, gold, blue etc.. its the same if some one tells me "imagine a group of disco cats" i would imagine black, white, brown cats all doing disco moves with some disco accessories etc..

thats just how my imagination works- it is entirely possible that my imagination is stunted and i am just not creative enough! :D

and now.. i really hope i didnt offend you.. im just sharing my thoughts and indeed maybe if i dont have anything nice to say i shouldnt say anything at all!

If somebody would challenge me to play, and put a army like that on the table, I would first go like :o and then laugh, because it is very funny, and as said before, i would rather fight disco skelletons then grey and metal models -_-

Personally threatening another member is a MAJOR breach of everything this site stands for. This is a community and you are expected to get along, even if you do not agree. This includes not threatening physical harm on anyone else's person.

Also, if you see an offending post then feel free to hit the report button up in the corner. This will let the mods of that forum know that there is something that needs to be dealt with immediately. The fastest possible way (if you want to contact llamarama [he is the set mod for this place -s'nkeep]) is via MSN. For those of you that don't know, my MSN is pachinko007[at]hotmail.com and I am logged in 24/7 and usually can respond REALLY fast (assuming I'm not at work, in which case you can just leave a message).
