basically i just roll one dice, keep the result and keep doing it till i get a double or choose to end it. Then i roll to wound. Do i have to roll to see if it fires with the crews BS? Do i have to do it with every shot? Oh yeh, and if my clanrat unit run does the ratling gun have to run too? If the unit is over run does the ratling gun go too? Can i put my ratling gun and the side of the unit or does it have to be in the unit? Sorry about all the questions, thanks in advance - Tarondor |

No, you dont need to roll to hit with the crews BS. It hits automatically. If the unit flees, the Ratling gun does not also immediately flee, but it will probably need to take a panic check if it is close by... The ratling gun counts as a seperate unit, so it doesnt overrun etc with the parent unit. Hope this helps Entaro Adun |

it only has to start within 3 of its parent unit, it can leave them and hide on the edge of a forest if it want to. hope that helps |

The only reason it would have to run is if a unit within range made it take a panic test (nearby unit of clanrats, monks, gutter runners, etc) heading for the hills. It gets a bit unnerving to see 25 rats run when there are only two of you holding an item prone to blow up

Does the rattling gun function like an ordinary unit ie. use generals LD (of 7!)? |

Yes, I don't see any exception written for it. It may, however, also use the rank bonus(and only rank bonus) of its parent unit (and only its parent unit) if within 3". So assuming its parent unit has full rank bonus, within range, isn't flanked, and a warlord is within 12" of gun, you'll be testing on Ld10. Mind you, it doesn't take the parent unit's whole leadership value, only its rank bonus. |

Say it is within 3" of its parent unit and is at the side of the unit, if the unit is charge, can the ratling gun stand and shoot for its parent unit? - Tarondor |

No, the ratling gun can only use its parent's rank bonus. For all other purposes it's a unit all by itself. It can stand and shoot if IT is charged, but that's it. One of the FAQ's had that very question. |

although i understood it that it can, if its going to end up in base to base combat first, so if u place it just an inch ahead but still on the side of the unit, it gets to shoot, as it is being charged. |
