Death of Rats
|
I'm hoping for people getting blown backwards by the force of something like a chariot or a massive creature like on War of the Ring. Or like Suaron in the opening of the Fellowship of the ring where people go up to sauron and get smashed. *goes into fantasy world* "Take that!!!" yells the elf as he slaughters another skaven. "They don't give up do they?" grey seer jammers says "fools fools! slaves make me laugh funny funny hahaha!" The slaves turn and run for it, chased all the while by the high elf unit. [view zooms out to show overview of battle, behind the slaves is a load of rat ogres, a ratling gun and some warlock engineers, surrounded by clanrats] The high elves stop in their tracks as they see the army arrayed against them, suddenly the ratling gun opens up and own 20 elves in as many seconds before blowing itself to shreds. the warlock engineers fry more and and then the clanrats charge at the elves, who have been seriously reduced in strength. The rat ogres charge :rogre:, with great blows they send elves flying with every step, assassins appear and plunge blades into as many necks as they can find, dodging each return swipe with preternatural agility.Seeing the battle is lost, the elves call for help, the mages start chanting in the background. [view zooms in on individuals fighting for their lives against innumerable ratmen before being swamped and killed] An elf dies, rusted swords sticking from his chest, "NO! NOT JOHNNYISHNUL!" shouts his friend, losing concentration for a split second and getting stabbed in the gut, his blood mingling with the filth of the Skaven. [view looks up ahead, a massive comet of cassandora is far in the distance; it looks back down as the last elves are destroyed] silence... The Skaven stand where they defeated the high ones just moments before, some gasping for breath, others with barely a scratch on their furry bodies.... BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!! The comet roars down and throws the rats backwards off their feet! A shockwave blasts outwards, decimating the battlefield and leaving a crater as large as a small city! A wave of shreaking rodents can be seen running from the blast before being flattened! Rat ogres scratching their heads stupidly as the force of the impact throws them around like rag dolls! [camera zooms upwards into the sky, the final effects of the blast can be seen before the colour fades to black *comes back out* holy moly! did i just write that? anyway, thats what i wish could happen END |

I hope they capture the unpredictable nature of the Skaven. They better let me put a Grey Seer on top of a Screaming Bell to! Else I'll be T.O.-ed! lol. If they do the game 100% correctly, it will be wonderful, as there will be an immense variety of tactics for each race (just like in actual Warhammer). Otherwise we'll be stuck with High Elves and Empire being SAD armies, Chaos just charging across the battlefield, and Skaven doing the same as Chaos, but blowing themselves up here and there in the process. I want to see High Elves capable of all calvary, Empire capable of their Infantry/Calvary armies, Chaos able to have a bit of tactics (cuz let's face it, besides the Hellcannon, they do just charge across), and Skaven able to do Eshin, Skyre, Moulder, Pestilence, Warlord, Greyseer, whatever the heck we want. They just don't need to leave out any units for each race. |

heres another little scene: A general walks through his castle, saluting his guard as he goes, he opens his dormitory door and closes it... but strangly it looks it self... There is only a torch to give light... its dim and the genral sighs and sits on his bed.. when a pair red eyes open behind him. The assassin stabs him in the back. But the blade couldnt break the amour. The assassin squeeks and jumps around, whipping throwing stars everywhere The general picks up his greatsword and attacks him, but the assassin nimbly dodges each blow. The general then takes a pistol and shoots the assassin in the ribs. The assassins drops on the floor, seemilingly dead. The genral tries to open his door but its locked... the assassin tries to get up but the general stabs him in the head with his sword... "Fool... you cant kill me, im invincible..." suddenly the torch goes out, and about 8 more pairs of red eyes open... theres a few screams, and then silence... hehehe, thats awsome squeeks |

i'm noty holding my breath on this. THQ/Relic did a good job with Dawn of War and the mod community has more than patched the holes they left in the game. Namco, otoh, is a console company trying to make pc games. GW keeps a hand on the rudder of all its properties so at the very least the game will be faithful to the original, but i predict the inexperience of Namco will rear its head in terms of editing and modding. naked DoW sucks: bad AI and inconsistent or incorrect weapon/unit stats; fortunately the modders are doing a good job. if nothing else, the game will look good. i just hope it's up to par in more important aspects. |

I played shadow of the horned rat, but that was before i played warhammer...those stat things didn't make any sense. I guess i'd be alot better at it now. Anyway- ROCK ON! WE SHALL INHEIRIT! Mabye the UnderEmpire could have its own banner that all of us would use when we played skaven? |

Their was a little post going on a while back about that old game. Apparently it was a pretty hard one to beat, which was good because Skaven always won  |
