Here's my current project. Pretty much done but there's a few touchup type things i'm going to do yet... but thought I'd share!

Two other pics, here, and here.

I tried highlighting all around the reactor in green as if it was giving off green light... I think it looks okay, but I might try touching the stuff up more. The colors seem to blend into the base too much, so I might just redo the whole base... I've not decided yet. Still need to do a little touchup on the engineer too... and paint the slaves' bases.

Nice.
Still I can spot one mistake - the engineer blocks the light's path, so yo shouldn't have highlighted the wheel behind him in green. The light only travels in straight lines, so it's good to try and lead a line from the light source to the "target" if it's impossible, you shouldn't make it green. If you plan to do further models this way, remember that the green light lwill look different on various colours - I mixed green with a colour that was the "target" to see how it shoul look, and double checked that with the control light on my CPU - it's green, so turning off the lights and putting a model next to it gives a good clue :)

Otherwise good job :)

Yeah, I can see that now that he's glued on, I hadn't attached him at that point and was thinking his stool held him up a bit higher. Might go back over those areas to un-green it.

Runes weren't so bad, even with a poor brush. Water down some paint and bring it really close to the rune and let the paint flow in. If you get some parts were it overfilled or the brush touched the outside, just do a careful drybrush over the area in the metal color again.

I was simply wondering where you got/made the base, and what dimensions it is. I don't have one with my WLC, and I would like one.

The unit strength and base size chart at the GW site states WLC uses 50*100mm base. That's the chariot base. I guess that's the minimum size and iirc it looks better with a bit bigger base just like Tilara has done it.

Tilara I like your metal colours. They look balanced and quite realistic.

I was simply wondering where you got/made the base, and what dimensions it is.  I don't have one with my WLC, and I would like one.

Had a piece of wood panaling laying around so cut a piece. I didn't try to make it some standard base size or anything, just got a piece to fit... its 2.5" x 4.5". Since the WLC can never be in combat I didn't see any reason to choose a scale. As GW doesn't provide a base for the model, everyone I've seen always treats templates and such as hits if it overlaps the model rather than whatever base it may or may not be stuck to it.

Its not glued down at the moment, I wasn't sure i liked the color scheme because it seemed too close to the cannon. I was thinking about doing one in more sandy colors, but then a company I applied for called me and said, "can you start work tomarrow?" and ...well, no time to work on that for a little while at least. hehe

GW, sucking the fun out of the hobby since 1999.

Never worry. Worst case scenario you die, and then there was no point worrying anyways.
