Well, to atract a more obesise (no offence) crowd, GW is planning to release the "Spamalope" army. the irony being that this in itself is spam |

Unlikely. They just got a revision...if they were to get anything it would have been then. Besides, DE have a damn good miniature range right now. Yes, I did hear the rumor about plastic corsairs but I can't see it happening anytime soon. I am a DE player myself, so I would be happy if they did come out.
A lot of people are hoping that but I just can't see it happen. With Gav publicly stating that as long as he's the Loremaster they are never coming back, they are certainly not next. Perhaps, I don't know, 4-5 years in the future? |
...And all this time I thought there was only one way to "retire" from the Council! What you call "retire", I call a "stay of execution"..whats in a word? Who knows-knows what GW will come out with to get us to spend our hard earned dollars and pounds?! 6th Ed. rules are good-good, I hope they stay around long enough for me to get-get my money's worth out of 'em, rofl! In any event, I say don't worry what Games Workshop will bring in the future, enjoy-joy gaming here and now... eat, drink, and be merry for tomorrow we die-die! Matt

It's a running joke in the white dwarf mags that the army of the fish men will not be coming out. However, it might be a hint. It is the only western mythology they have not yet plundered (Atlantis etc.) and there is that thing in the lizzie army book about the submerged city of gold inhabited by creatures of some sort. Perhaps the high elves mastery of the sea is fading... Imagine an army of fish men (like the one in Hell Boy) with every unit aqautic, bonuses while in water and huge sea monsters and such, with a lore of the sea... Intense!!!!!!1 |

Honestly, I think they'd resurrect the Norse or Nippon armies before introducing a new race to the world. I'd actually like the see the Nipponese army. Samurai, Ninjas, Monks, peasents, etc. Will never happen, of course, but I think it would be a really neat list. A pirate army would be cool too, not just this undead pirates thing that came out recently. But I think it would be hard to plan pirates into an overland type game. Probably could just use the empire list and model the figures different. |

The reason why the cathayan/nipponese armies were scrapped was that they felt it would be just like another empire army. The list was pretty much the same except for the stone dogs and the repeater crossbows. I think it'll be the same problem with a pirate army. I think though that if they got creative enough I'm sure they can make it different. Pity about the CDs, though. I reckon it's just personal bias, since Gav happens to be a dwarf fan and all. <_< |

I recently went and bought the rest of the army books that I don't own, and in the Ogre Kingdom (the most recent, until wood elves is released in the next couple weeks) mentioned chaos dwarves several times in the fluff. so my money is on Chaos Dwarves. I don't see why GW wouldn't bring them back, they've had several people in asking them about Chaos Dwarves for quite a while so there is obviously a fanbase for the race that would generate some revenue for them if they would just release the evil stunties. |

Yeah, I have to say that big hats were under my radar for a long time, but I'm starting to see more and more references to them. There is at least one reference to them in the Ogre Kingdoms book if I remember correctly..... I think we'll see some new minis for them sooner or later, and maybe an official PDF of rules, but I'd be really surprised by an army book before 7th ed. |

When is 7th edition going to come out? What are they changing? I'm kinda surprised by all of you believing 7th edition is coming out so soon, especially since they are just now releasing the new Wood Elves. Then again, i need to resubscribe to white dwarf, lol. |

Don't forget in 40k the Squats had a big fanbase too and GW's responce was, "Squats no longer exist and no one is allowed to mention them on our offical board." They're trying to make the Squats vanish as if they never existed so I wouldn't be supprised if they did the same for the Chaos Dwarves. |

They aren't trying to make Chaos Dwarves vanish though. They mention them in the Ogre Kingdoms book in various sections of fluff and some in White Dwarf. |

Warlord of 7th Tactics!
|
Id like to see either, the nippon ninja army, or the araby army, or how about... u know how it says that the tk have mortals in their armies, why not add some of those.... |
|
GW, sucking the fun out of the hobby since 1999. Never worry. Worst case scenario you die, and then there was no point worrying anyways. Skaven repaint overhaul Number 5! (2/5th complete) | |
