Here is my reply to a warning that mutator gave me when the issue of darkslayer first came up and you can all see after forces allied against me I was willing to step back.

This is one of the reasons Im currently soon will as apart of my new years turn over be no longer signing in on Darkslayer account. Enjoy the reading.

I think you are playing a dangerous game and it could quite easily backfire.

However, that is all your decision, and you certainly gets the award for the most effort and the cunningest planning so far.   Well done on getting into the spirit of things :)

Well Anything worth while is always dangerous.
Why thank you for your comments, yes it could have problems like right now curbing the backlash support from zundap over the matter. But in the end I think it would make our alliance stronger. But above all consider this is what i consider playing you, this is a game after all. Getting in my angle, ive done it soo much that some might come off a bit blunt and for that Im sorry before hand about that.

I still dont like what you are doing though, for the following reasons:

1.   We  are trying to keep communications to this site, as the campaign is for this site, if you see what I mean, and you're effectively turning the Underempire campaign forums into a sideshow.

I'm not keen on all the 'real' communications going on off-site, as that kind of defeats the purpose of this campaign as a means of building the Underempire site.

True as coming off I have stop trying to get more passwords to other factions at this time. Of course I tried to push them in a direction maybe a little too hard, and thus the backlash and rumors. I thought I had them all then vasquisk comes out and places all that I worked on in the mixer. While I have always been anonymous members when I have been viewing so either someone tipped him off or he tried to come off pms with others and try to make it a shadow stab. Im not mad but its something that has always been turned on when I logged recently.

But its still an open could a mod have tipped him off because of something i was doing its either that, or the forumed screwed up, or hes lying...

2. Whilst permissible within the bounds of the campaign, what you are doing is sidelining all those members who are uninvolved or unaware of your negotiations.   [snip]

While ideally I asked about it while back with dm mik, and he told me. So if they assumed it was open and secure its not my fault. Ask questions, a better reply on your all part could have helped. Its only secure from mods spying its not secure from themselves. Just as easily as I get the password, people can just as easily quote entire forums. Infact I have a few of these being done by the more paranoid that don’t wanna give out the password.

My main concern is that we might lose the interest of members who thought that this campaign would be conducted through the use of maintaining contacts, expending resources and fighting battles.   They might feel that they have been under an unfair disadvantage if their every move has been read by their enemy from the very beginning of the campaign without their knowledge or control when they were assured by their organisers that they would be able to communicate in private.

By all means make them private, say faction boards are only for those of that faction. I would be willing to give up my lazy spying. If you all want to give bonus to my Blackhand network even more the better. Disadvantage is only a weakness if you choose it to be, I have worked the crowd and gotten myself quite a bit of contacts working each person against the other.

The worst case scenario is that you and your fellow conspirator's efforts are discovered, and many players give up the campaign and never really trust you elsewhere on the forum.   They might even decide that this forum contains the sorts of members that they dont want to play games against (and we dont want to build that reputation.

BY all means I never forced people to do what they never could be tricked into doing. Just as well as I put myself out to be tricked in return. But since I have got contacts I can say no. So far I havnt had to close the door but its still an early game. Of course ive had the door closed in on me. But that’s the game.

The middle scenario is that they also take their sensitive discussions off site, which defeats the purpose of having a campaign forum on this site at all (and ruins your spying efforts too!).   It might also engender a degree of 'competition' and desire to win far out of proportion to the degree of seriousness that this campaign is designed for (it is meant to be fun), and that would lead to bad feeling which could spill over onto the other, non-campaign forums.   If that starts to happen I will be recommended that this campaign be ended, as it would be bad for the Underempire.

By all means I take the mafia approach “Its nothing personal just business” I come across this in may may ways, But by all means its your campaign. And not everyone can be as smooth as me. I mean just now gorod instead of giving me secure info about what they were saying about me, he commented me. “they're just saying stuff like "man S'kneeps a cool dude" and "I wish Sn'keep was in our factions" and general fawning stuff like that” Which I gave him props for, for someone who said he didn’t wanna be doing the plotting and scheme. He got quite good at it just by that comment.

Another possibility is that the campaign turns into selected "inner circles" of players who conspire off-site, and a whole lot of people who do nothing but log wins for their side - and that would be no fun for the majority of players.   Do you want this whole campaign to be all about "Sn'keep and a few drinking buddies" with noone else having any real influence?   Doesnt that devaue your efforts, if you have no 'real' competition?

No secrets in a skaven campaign… I wont even comment on that. Inner Circles you would be suprized stop by the Blackhand network its mostly just me and a few of my fans commenting on my ideas. In all campaigns you have to play up support since it’s a free for all campaign. All I have to do to keep people on my side by not being a threat. Think of it as a big reality tv show. Except more privacy. After all its still early but atm only person that is on my forum will be someone who is laying low after it starts. Foeslayer, after it rings out must be keeped in the dark just like everyone else. Except lucky for him, he will have a keyhole he can see and tell me ideas. While the others im not sure about.

I'm not going to take any action on this, but I think you should think carefully about what I have said.   I'd also like you to pass this on to all the members you have traded passwords with, and for you all to discuss the matter and see if the consensus is that it is worthwhile.

After all, like all warhammer-related activities, it is not winning that is important, it is playing the game (with the added note that your opposition has to enjoy the game too).

Think about it.   Discuss it with your fellow conspirators.   Dont reply immediately, but take the time to digest what I have said.   Then get back to me with your thoughts.

Remember, I am not forcing you to stop what you are doing - I'm just saying be careful and use your discretion.

Looking forward to reading your (and your mates) thoughts on the matter.

I think your playing this up more then it is. While i tried to work it to get more access but i havnt pushed it enough. Its all about fun, ill post this and my reply to the network. But like i said that is just the steping stone of my empire. I have always included Deathmaster mik in all my ideas and schemes, I am relying on my charm to do things, Its not winning that matters, like in project supremacy its the effort and the fluff that matters all to me.
