they were much cooler in 5th where the driver could be killed and it'd travel a random distance in a random direction. you also got an extra d6" movement if it was going downhill. the misfire chart was nowhere as lethal as it is now. now it's a 150pt random distance move chariot that might be able to shoot 3 times a phase like a wlc but with 3d6" range... it looks great, but it's way too much of a liability to justify its cost. even though it's immune to psych, it probably won't win any combats on its own, and with 3 chances to misfire if you shoot with it, any support unit will either [a] prevent any shooting while they travel or risk getting blown up with it if (when) it misfires in a combat. i have two and used to either put one on each flank or put them both in the middle. i'd probably still do the same if i didn't have to forewarn my opponent by asking if i can use them. GW should either make all that stuff official or just not print the bleeping rules. |

I have four of em. Two I bought myself, I did. I love the model. In this dark age, they are practicly uselless... for the untrained eye that is! Having one co-oporate with ratogres is a winner! Have fun painting him, I'm sure you will enjoy it

4 doomwheels? Lol  then you really have the march of the dead... No, the model is really cool, but against shooty armies I would NOT put him in. I had a battle vs. DE and about 78 crossbow shots later the thing was gone! However in battles of 1k and below it is SO, SO nasty... (and shut up about cheese, it's just fun!) Greetz |

In my battle with the doomwheel today, it was absolutely useless!!! It failed its charge each time on its 3D6, one time by only a quarter of an inch! It didnt even get shot at! Had it only rolled higher there could have been a much better outcome to the game... <_< |
