I dont understand Bounds Spells like Bands of Power. Does the Power Level matter? Does it run out? |

they only run out if it says so in the item description (ie. storm daemon - roll a 1 and its dead, or if it specifically states one use only). otherwise it can be cast once per magic phase. power level indicates how hard the bound spell is to get rid of. You dispel them as normal spells, and you have to beat the Power Level in order to dispel it. heres an example bands of power - power level four you cast it. your opponent must roll a 4+ using his store of dispel dice to dispel it (or use a dispel scroll) example 2 sunfang (tyrion for the High Elves's sword) casts its spell with a power level of six. this means your opponent would have to roll a 6+ using his dispel dice, or use up a dispel scroll. |

do you need to roll to use bound spells, over the power level or are they automatic? |

They are automatic. That's the whole point of bound items, you get to cast a free spell, no power dice required, no dice rolls, no miscasts. Of course, on the other hand they're easy to dispel, but they're still worth their weight in gold. (or warpstone.) |

"I have a post-Armageddon vision. We and all other large animals are gone. Rodents emerge as the ultimate post-human scavengers. They gnaw their way through New York, London and Tokyo... within 5 million years, a whole range of new species replace the ones we know. Herds of giant grazing rats are stalked by sabre-toothed predatory rats. Given enough time, will a species of intelligent, cultivated rats emerge?" Richard Dawkins, The Ancestor's Tale | |
