I've seen many people eluding to some seemingly secret rule (at least to me) that when your general dies, your units MUST take a rout test or something of that sort. Where can I find these rules, as I've looked in the rulebook where it has to do with your general and can't find a pinch of info. |

As far as I know, they got rid of this rule for the new edition of WHFB. It used to be around in the last edition, but they got rid of it when they decided to "tone down" the characters. The only army that suffers from this kind of rule is Undead (whether VC or TK) with their collapsing thing. |

Oh, okay. Thanks for the help, because I was killing myself over not finding it. With TK and VC, is the rout test basically a panic test, but they all take wounds? |

Yeah, as far as I know. They take a Ld check, and suffer a wound for every point they fail by. I don't know if characters have to check, or whether they just pass their Ld onto the unit they're with... |

Believe me you do not know how irritating it is when you find out that this rule has gone after you have just been massacred... <_< Hmm it now only effects undead types. |

There is no panic/rout check if your General dies in a normal game of WHFB anymore. Maybe the smaller skirmish games have it.(like border patrol) As far as I know, VC/TK take LD check for each unit. For each 1 they fail it by,they lose 1 wound from the unit. With Ld scores like 3 & 4 ,its a real bad thing. In TK its the Head Heirophant who causes te test. |

They also have to continue to make it at the start of each Undead turn... And they probally won't be rolling 3s and 2s that often. And Assassins are just perect for killing that Head Heirophant... |

actually, i think they have to take it a lot more often than that. i know for sure they have to take the first test at the end of the phase that the character (general for vc, head heirophant for tk) died in, and then at the end of every phase after that. i know that sounds deadly, but i'm pretty sure that's the way it goes. i'll confirm after i get home from work. |

Unless their general is a necromancer, in which case... they're screwed. Especially against Eshin armies, you could probably get away with just 'leaping a normal assassin at him. *Hack Hack Stab Crumble Crumble* |

An Eshin Triad might do the trick ,if you're lucky. You have a better chance vs. a thrall or lesser VC.Not much of a chance vs. a tooled up VC lord. Necromancers are easy prey. |

Each unit takes a test. (Otherwise the entire army would be destroyed at once! The rule is nasty enough as it is.) |

"I have a post-Armageddon vision. We and all other large animals are gone. Rodents emerge as the ultimate post-human scavengers. They gnaw their way through New York, London and Tokyo... within 5 million years, a whole range of new species replace the ones we know. Herds of giant grazing rats are stalked by sabre-toothed predatory rats. Given enough time, will a species of intelligent, cultivated rats emerge?" Richard Dawkins, The Ancestor's Tale | |
