A strange question for a SKAVEN site. I am an ex-Dwarf player. I liked bolt throwers. Cheap and no misfire, flank shots cleave thru ranks,no save. Against Skaven I would use the flame cannon for the auto-panic. Or the organ gun,up to 10 ST5 auto-hits. |

organ guns are just watered-down helblasters, similar to the way chaos runeswaords are watered-down versions of daemonswords. cannons can be found anywhere. flame cannons are short-ranged. stone throwers are inaccurate. this leaves bolt throwers. massive amounts of bolt throwers... mmm chaos dwarf hobgob bolt throwers are fun |

Bolt throwers with the rune which makes it a S7. Then it becomes a chariot/screaming bell killer as well. Also I hated the bolt throwers with the fire rune when I play my Orc army! Causes your regenerating trolls to lose their regeneration ability! |

As a skaven player, I am no longer afraid of cannons and bolt throwers. They just can't hurt that many rats in a single round of shooting to cause a panic test. Stone throwers, on the other hand, can be nasty. Especially with the rune taht lets them re-roll the scatter die. That's a lot of chances for a direct hit. The only time I've ever seen an organ gun, it blew up in the first turn.

Go forth my brethren, that we shall nibble at the roots of the old world! We are the rats in the shadows. We hold the blades of corruption, aimed at the very heart of the Old World. We are The Council of Thirteen. Second place in the UnderEmpire painting competition! | |

Organ guns can be useful because they don't need a "hit roll". They are ideal for taking out skirmishers. No -1 hit. I once used an organ gun vs. a Skaven army and rolled 10 shots 4 turns in a row! The Skaven player was cursing! Other times the organ gun blew up on the first shot ..... |

Gyrocopters occassionally scare me (I mean, come on. FLYING DWARVES!!!AAAGGH!!!!!). But normally I shoot 'em down with my WLC before they get to me. Stone throwers also scare me sometimes. Other than that, not many war machines of any race scare me. Except the Casket of Souls. That's fairly scary. |

The chances that any war machine can do enough damage to 5 point rats before the tunnellers get there seem unlikely, but the bolt throwers can cause a bit of fear in me. |

i would go for the gyrocopter ecspecially against skaven.. the steam cannon can be very hard hitting against T3 opponents.. also the ability to block marchmoves so the dwarfs get another round of shooting can be very good... |

...they get shot down 1st turn by my jezzails, they get blasted by a WLC, they get warp-lightninged, slinged, swarmed, and generally beaten down within the first two or maybe three turns of the game... |

The Flame Cannon with an engineer that makes it so that it can't be targeted until it fires. *shudder* |
