Hi all, I'm a relatively new player and encountered an opponant playing with bands of power for the first time recently. My opponant believed that the bands of power could be used in my magic phase as well as his own (after I was done casting, at which point my remaining power dice could act as dispel dice). I read the BoP description and it does say "Once per Magic Phase" unlike others which say "Once per bearer's Magic Phase" or similar things. Is this correct? Do BoP overcome the general practice that bound items are used in your own magic phase? Thanks in advance for any help. And if you have them please reply with citations to the authority cited so that I can resolve the question with my opponant more easily. Thanks again. |

You can only use it in your magic phase but it lasts a whole turn if you manage it. |

Vilepaw is right, you activate it on your turn, and it lasts untill the beginning of your next so it essentially lasts for both your and your opponents CC phases (which is why its so good). |

Your opponent can dispel it in his magic phase,in his turn, before combat. Dwarfs can use their 2 magic dice as dispell dice in their turn instead of casting spells(they don't ave any anyway) A little known/used rule- The casting player can use power dice to dispell spells still in play. |

No, you have to activate it in your own magic phase (doh, bound spell) UNLESS it is stated that it can be activated in both players turn. Otherwise you could as easily unleash a warp scroll in the enemies magic phase. Greetz |

Doesn't it say "until the next magic phase" not "your next magic phase" or "bearear's next magic phase"? Meaning it lasts through your turn, and at the beginning of your opponents magic phase, it stops? Its not a "Remains in Play" spell to my knowledge, and I thought Power Dice could only be used to counter RiP spells. I could be wrong on all of the above counts, so please... correct me if I am! |

To clarify: My particular situation went something like this dramatization ... Skaven Turn 2 - I activate my bands of power, a bound item giving that assassin high strength! *Enemy roll to dispel and succeed - no high strength for you!* Enemy Turn 2 - I active my bands of power, you may use your remaining power dice to dispel this attempt if you wish. *** So this was an issue of actually activating the his bound item at the end of my magic phase. No issues of remaining in play. Thanks to all for your input. |

it's a bound spell, which means you can only activate them in your magic phase. the effects last until the beginning of your next magic phase. there are many spells that are not RiP but still have an effect lasting through the enemy's following turn. |

OK. I'll make this as clear as I can. You(Skaven) activate the BoP in your/Skaven Magic Phase. The effect lasts until the start of your/Skaven next Magic Phase. The enemy can use power dice in his Magic Phase to dispell the BoP effect before combat takes place. It probably won't happen ,because people are usually to preoccuppied trying to cast spells. Alot of people don't know this obscure rule either. |
