A 1500 pt. army- 3 exalted champions of khorne with goodies 5 marader horsemen (to screen Uber unit) 10 furies (more screens) 36 Chosen of Khorne with all the stops This army would deploy the screens then lay down the 1200+ point unit. They would welcome flank charges as they would get more attacks. The army would get 6 dispel dice and have magic resistance 2 on the uber unit. I don't now anyone with an army like this but I am wondering what would happen if someone brought this to a tourney. How would you stop this army (any race)? How would you stop this army (skaven)? Would you get a good comp score?   Tell me your thoughts on a one unit wonder |

Well, unless you bring the blood banner so that you always keep your frenzy, fear and terror is your biggest enemy. Because all it takes is a bit off bad luck and they'll run. Also, an ultimate force where everyone starts hitting each other (that nasty tzeench spell) would be evil. and having many dispel dice is not always good, can easily roll double 1 and then... ugly. And my friend has 36 Khorne warriors... perhaps I should ask him to try it out *grins* |

FEAR THE LEMMING!

You don't need 36 chosen knights. All you need is 25 chosen warriors, ranked in fives. Invinco-force! I've tried it. It works most of the time, but when the rest of the army begins to collapse, well... So long Chosen. So long everything, because the massive unit of death is running and causing everyone to panic. |

how about getting four units of 20/25 clanrats, lots of slaves in front and 4 Warpfire throwers, fire through the slaves, take 2/3 warlock engineers, fully equipped + 1 with brass orb, two with death globes. large amount of globadiers, at 1500 it's only posible to get 1 wlc, im not a fan of jezzails, but maybe some of them... plague monks(immune to psychology) might be good, but personally, i'd try and hit them in the flank with 6+ swarms (unbreakable, immune to psychology, high movement...) the only way to beat cheese is with cheese, but luckily, we can be oh-so-cheesy... 80 clanrats (4 units of 20, no upgrades)-400 points four warpfire throwers-300 points 6 rat swarms-270 points 30 slaves (no upgrades)-60 points 10 globes-100 points Warplightning cannon-100 1230 points 2 warlock engineers + full lightning kits -170 points 1 warlock engineer +lightning kit +brass orb (do chaos had gd initiative? if they do, spend this 50 points on something else)- 135 points 1535- trim something back (possibly lose the globes and take magic items/more rats), but this is what i'd aim for, shoot them, fry them, panic them with warpfire, kill (preferably the general) them through their meat shield with lightning cannon. use warlock's dispels to keep your cannon and throwers safe, and use your swarms to tie them down they wont break, so *all warpfire throwers, fire! Quick-quick!* |

But Jackety you are missing the point, the point is that there isn't any rest of teh army. And the banner of rage would be a good thing... Well, Kill-kill just got the Attackers of Middenhiem box army so we shall see how the massive super unit will last. |

CLAN SKYRE: WE (gnrl) w/ StrmDmn, WrpChrm, fully equiped. WE w/ WrpstrmScrl, f.e. WE w/ WrpScrl, f.e. 5 rat swarms (core) 2 units of 20 clanrats (no command) w/ ratling guns (core) 2 units of 6 jezzails (core) 2 warp lightning cannos (special) 5 niterunners w/ XW's (special) 5 tunnelers (rare). Thats 1500pts exactly! Basically the WLC's can and will punch through ranks/ units. JZL's pick off knights/ warriors. RTG's pick off units closing in and/or flyers closing in on WLC's. Skirmishers hinder movement from the rear and flank. All WE's dance around enemy units while blasting them w/ Warp Lightning (total of 4, maybe 2 spells go through) and maybe getting some shots off w/ their warp pistols. Also 2 WE have the Warpstorm scroll vs. flyers (1 use) and the Warp scroll, which if it goes off all models in a unit suffer a S3 hit (1 use).Kinda cheesy, but it would only work against your army list. Watcha think?

I think the worst thing to do is to fight cheese with cheese. Fight cheese with "I'm not gunna play you, I'll find someone else". Often times when people have a "cheesy" army, a well balanced army with a good general can beet it without a problem. |

The Burninator (middenheim faction)

Chaos has a godly initiative. Base is 4 (for marauders) and 5(for Chaos warriors), then it gets better from there. Chaos lord has initiative 8 I think. Against that army, I'd lead him on a merry chase through my endless lines of slaves, nightrunners, while surrounding him and finally a) make him persue of the other end of the table for comedic effect. Or b ) attack him on all sides EXCEPT the front and lay into him with my gouger wielding plague priest

You could always just play the opposing army and deal with it as a strategic challenge without trying to label it "cheesy" or "balanced". For me, anything is fun to fight once, and everything has a weakness. Certain armies might not be fun to play against if its your friend insisting you face his super-shooty army every night...but once or twice for a new challenge, I'll try anything. btw I saw the army box kill-kill bought...very impressive ...I want a skaven hellcannon! ...those things performed awesomely for us in the first battle for the chaos shrines (the staffer managing the chaos side tried to give my skaven command of a hellcannon but I later ceded it to the control of a new player in the center)

Yeah, I hate cheesy armies big time!!! Recently, I saw a battle using Zacharius the Everliving in a 2000pt game, along with black coach, spirit hosts etc. The problem is he relied on Invocation of Nehek too much. But the beastmen opposoing him had more magic, sow ere able to beat the cheesy vamp army to a pulp. and the beastmen army was ballanced. I was relieved to see that. I hate cheesy armies.
