I'm fleeting a primarily eshin force and am having some trouble against my friend who plays dwarves. My master assasin and gutter runners have no trouble with most of the army ie crossbows, rangers, warmachines but the damn slayers are a bit much with they're daemon slayer at the head, they devastate my lines in close combat and my jezzailes aren't doing much to hurt them at all. Since I'm eshin I'm reluctant to use Rat Ogres or Warmachines as they'll ruin my UtcoD but i'm running out of some ideas. |

Oddly enough, 10 night runners with throwing stars are perfect to face off against slayers. Just stay out of his charge arc and pelt him with stars the whole game. You should at least get him down to half. |

Go forth my brethren, that we shall nibble at the roots of the old world! We are the rats in the shadows. We hold the blades of corruption, aimed at the very heart of the Old World. We are The Council of Thirteen. Second place in the UnderEmpire painting competition!

POISON POISON POISON. Now that ive got that out of my system, i dont think that you have much to worry about the UCoD rule, as all they have is the Goblin Hewer, and besides that can be killed by at least the second turn. I agree with VF in that stars would work wonders here (As well as more jezzails) Only engage him in his flanks so his characters can fight you as long, make sure that IF you are in a combat that it is of YOUR choosing and involves a tooled up Assasin :). |

That pesky warmachine keeping you down, or is that combat monster destroying your army? NEVER FEAR... ESHIN IS HERE Wherever there is injustice... I will be there... Wherever crime is going on unhindered... I will be... Oh screw it, cant anyone take the law into their own hands Happy Hunting Cheers, Typo Record (w/l/t) 27/5/7 SoC Record(w/l/t) 13/1/2

Are you talking about one unit of Slayers or the SoC Slayer army?? 2 units of Nightrunners with throwing stars should work. Keep throwing and avoid his charge arc. Send in a rat swarm if all else fails, they're unbreakable too. |

Try ratling guns in the sides of him, they should do wonders against that lack of armour. I find just get one side hooked up with night runners as suggested, then take a ratling gun and blow the side to pieces (I know it's out of character, but if you can bring yourself to use one little gun...), and charge the rear or flank with some gutter runner and a souped up assassin, they won't last long. |

Ratlings will blow his cover of darkness because you need a non skirmishing unit to field one. The best answer has been given a few times I think; Use the slayers as pin-cushions for your runners with slings and/or stars. Build yourself a shooty eshin army and you are home free. I like the addition of the rat swarm to tie something up for a few turns if you can spare the points. Post a list for us to 'shoot at', Persian? |
