Collapsable Center; An Inspirational Tactic

I recently decided to see if Hannibal's tactics could be transferred over to WFB and I have to say I am relatively impressed with the results so far. The Core of my army was 2 units of Skaven Slaves fielded 4 wide. To their flanks Clanrats 5 wide each supported by a chieftan. 2 WFTs hide behind the slaves though slightly to the left or right to prevent indirect targeting by cannons. The flanks of the Clanrats are supported by Giant Rat Packs. Between the 2 WFTs is a unit of 10 Jezzails. All this and two small units of Tunneling Teams.

The leadership of the Chieftan stacked with Strength in Numbers keeps the Slaves in line until they can engage the enemy or be engaged. The opponent cannot afford to leave their flanks exposed to the Slaves so ignoring them is not an option. Simply flee as a charge reaction and your opponent finds himself in a kill zone with little chance of survival.

I have only tried this tactic once and it was very effective granting me a massacre. It is far different from the typical sword and shield strategy (strong infantry in the center and cavalry on the flanks) which most people use. The collapsable center prevents the opponent from bringing their cavalry typically deployed on the flanks into the center to support the Core unit which is usually a fairly expensive elite infantry unit like Great Swords (as it was in this case).

Your input is more than welcome but I really want other people to try it out and let me know what they think before they start tearing the strategy apart. Don't say it will never work because it has a better chance of getting off than my typical envelopment strategy which is ineffective against other horde armies like O&G.
In battles <2000 the odds are most favorable. Terror tests from flyers is still a problem I am working on and is the only apparent weakness at this moment.
"Let one fall so that ten more might take its place"
"But what if those ten should fall my lord?"
"Then let them be replaced by one hundred more"
"But my lord will not some be trampled in such a gathering?"
"Only those who get in the way"

Just a suggestion, but it'd be cool if you tried the tactic against other armies and kept us posted on how things worked out.

Dabbling GM. Clanrat loon. 6th Edition Aficionado. Bitter.

what if thw WFT's overshoot or blow up? then you got 200 points of jezzails being charged, or enemy wheels round to charge flanks of clanrats.

keep some clanrats back behind ur battleline to the left and right of the jezzails/6" behing the other blocks of clanrats, then if they charge the jezzails u get both/either flank(s) exposed, same if they wheel u get flanks and mebbe rear charges.

but yeah, great tactic, the two WFT's could destroy the enamy unit or rout them within seconds....

what if you kept an uber-unit back (plague monks?), screened by the jezzails (which are screened by the slaves), then when your opponent has lost the center of their army to your tactic, you can charge straight through the regiment-sized hole in their battleline (probably not protected by reserves/cannons) and get THEIR flanks/rears

might work....
