Basically. Think of WHFB Skirmish, then move it slightly towards Role Play. Your characters develop new skills and can carry over wounds (like a missing eye or leg, etc.).

So, with my lack of knowledge about Necromunda, I'll say that your analogy is essentially correct. :D

i only played nm about 8 yrs ago. maybe 3 to 15 models per side, small battlefield, lots of terrain. i don't remember too much compexity in the continuancy of characters, though and not much rp. our group didn't play it for very long.

i always assumed it was relative (necromunda to wh40k, mordheim to whfb).seems like the same concept (decrepit city with gangs/warbands)

Yep, it's the same with Mordheim. I play and have a Kislevite warband currently. It's alot of fun when you have a good group of folks in a campaign with a plotline to it.

hmm. i've been trying to come up with whfb rules for a campaign, but i couldn't figure out a fair way to have characters "advance", you know, like unique stats or a special ability actually gained through playing.

does mordheim have a good system for something like that?

I do believe that there are such rules in Mordheim, however noone at my club has shown an interst in playing, so I haven't had the chance to try it out.

I feel mordheim is teh best side game aside from bloodbowl (which i sadly do not play often enough) as it creates very characterful models and you start to feel that you know your warband after a few good games.

Just a shame you can get ^Warpfire^

Mordheim is indeed very characterfull... it is seen as a bit worse than Necromunda, but there can be a really long discussion on this. I personally have great fun in WHF Skirmish and so Mordheim was really quick learned.

I have used up 2 warbands already (retiring them at 400 warband-rating or something like that) and going on with my third right now. It is so much fun!

Yep, it's a very fair advance system. Download the book and check it out, I think you'll love it. I can play a game or two with ya if you ever head down to the bunker again. :D
