actually, how i use my gaunts is that i pumped them full of all the mutations (especialy my hormagaunts) but they still end up quite cheap so i send them a head to scare my opponent into shooting them allowing my core unit of large creatures to get close. My core unit has my Hive Tyrant, three Tyrant Guards, Old One Eye, a Carnifex and a Zonethrope. Then I upgrade them so they have 2+ saves and hammer the enemy. I've never lost using this strategy.

an all shooting tyranid army could work well 3 biovores then a termagant firing line can screw with dark eldar you just need to have at least one dedicated HtH unit to counter charge anything that makes it in. |
