Too fast, too well equipped for Pestilens. Try M5, I4 and no armour or shield option. If their heroes dont get the option, why should the troops? Also "Plague Guard" sounds...not very pestilensy... BTW I agree with the discount price on a fear causing banner for Pestilens use only - but only if they still retain the 0-1 PM unit may carry magic banner... |

I made them better equpted because their supposed to be like Storm Vermin. Additionally, why would you give up the flails in the first place? Oh well. Hand weapon and shield are now gone. |

You could have the Banner: Banner of the Green Death: 50pts This banner was soaked in the renown cauldron of a thousand poxes and plauge is always rife around it. It is said that enemies charging towards the Banner are often overcome by great billowing clouds of a great plague 'The Green Death' before they reach their target. Any unit within 6" of the unit carrying the banner must take a Toughness test or suffer d3 + the number of ranks of the unit wounds with no armour save allowed. Units charging the banner bearers unit suffer d6 wounds if tey fail their T test. Giantrat |

Interesting. What happens if the unit has mixed Toughness? New Item Enchanted Item The Pendant of Pestilens - 50pts This pendant was first worn by Nurglitch, and contains the essence of every plague that has ever been unleashed upon the world. Due to prolonged exposure to these plagues, the wearer has become accustomed to such diseases, boosting their already impressive resilience The wearer is immune to all poisoned attacks, all spells from the Lore of Nurgle and the Skaven spells Plague and Pestilent Breath. |

If the unit has mixed T you should test on the lower. E.g If you hadGors and Ungors in the unit , u would test on the Ungors toughness. If the test is failed then you should also remove all the ungor first. Giantrat |

Well, i really like this banner, but it may be a tad underpriced (125 UNDERPRICED!!!) The only change that i would consider is making the power lvl D6 +2 to keep the level relatively low but still effective,as well as every turn that the plague spell is used roll a D6, on a roll of a 1 the banner backfires and the unit carrying is effected by plague, Toughness tests are only failed on a 6. If this is used i would take away its ability to exhaust itself. |

How about: Staff of Nurglith: Wepon, Counts as great Wepon, may be used top make one model in BtBC take a toughness test. If failed remove model as a casualty. Points: I dont know. |

I would change the range of the Nurglitch banner. Making it work only against units wit who the unit combats. Making it cost less. |

Harbingers of Pestilence (15 pts. each) M 5 WS 4 BS 3 S 4 T 4 W 1 I 4 A 1(3) Ld 5 Unit Size: 10+ Equipment: 2 Hand Weapons Options: May buy the unit Plague Censers for +30 pts. This is a flat rate for the unit- regardless of size. See special rules. One model may be upgraded to a Musician for +8 pts. One model may be upgraded to a Standard Bearer for +12 pts. The standard bearer may carry a magic standard worth up to 50 pts. One Model may be upgraded to a Pestilence Deacon for +8 pts. SPECIAL RULES: Plague Censers: These are not the same censers carried by the fanatical bearers that accompany Plague Monks. They are filled with incense that attracts large amounts of insects and creates a smoky haze around the unit. The censers are carried by models in the second rank, and never move into the first rank. If there are no models to carry the censers (only the standard bearer and musician remain- there needs to be two models to carry the censers) then the "Cloud of Flies" rules no longer applies. Cloud of Flies: While equipped with Censers, enemies atacking the unit in close combat are at -1 to-hit. This ceases to function when the unit can no longer carry either of the two censers (still functions while there is one censer). Frenzy ======================= What do you all think? Frenzy and extra hand weapon attacks were included in the profile. |

Well, it looks pretty good. My main problem with the unit is the ability to take 75 point magic banners, or in other words, giving them fear. I think that this should be changed to max 50 points like EVERY other elite unit in the game. Those two banners (storm and the fear one) are meant just for BsB. I also think that they might be a tad under priced. M5 WS4 S4 T4 A3 thats pretty good (Along with cloud of flies) for 15 points. Maybe 17 and give them the ability to take normal PCB as well? |

I looked at it this way... they're a rank`n`file unit... so PCB's would be a little odd (they'd be hitting themselves)... but I thought of something like Fanatics... I love the randomness and fury of it all. This is what I had in mind; ====================================== "...A Harbinger of Pestilence unit may also take up to 3 Plague Censer Bearers that are not set up on the board at the beginning of the game. If the Harbingers of Pesitlence come within 8" of an enemy unit, place all three Censer Bearers in contact with the side closest to the enemy. Roll a scatter die and 2d6 to see where they go. These function in the same way as a Goblin Fantaic, except; The Censer does 2d6 S4 hits to the unit it moves through. Models that survive then must take a Toughness test or die. Clan Pestilens Skaven and Nurgle only ever fail on a 6." These Censer bearers would cost something between 75 and 125 points. What do you think? |
