Dawn broke for the last time upon the Keep of Bohsenfels. During the night the oul ratmen of the sewers surged forwards in what could only be described as a vermintide!

Unlike many of his brethren Sensei Stelfklaw did not despise sunlight, infact him embraced it as much as the pitch of the catacombs below him. He gazed across the open plain towards the middle mountains, all was black smoking ruin, no living thing survivng the chaos onslaught.
He watched the keep walls, wathcing the skyhre climbing machines lifting his bounty up the walls. The machines were vaguly arachnid shaped and each of their eight legs ended in a spike some three feet long. He looked in dismay as one of these ultra deluxe machines lost its limb, the flailing machanical weapon falling and crushing many of his desert rats.
The gently whiring machines climbed higher and higher as they scaled the walls. Another machine began its asent, this abomination carried a long copper poll, a lighting rod.
"Not long now," he cackled to himself in anticipation.

What seemed like hours later the climbing machines finally reached their destination, the broken machine still impaled on the wall. He would kill them later!

He barked orders to the dozen rat ogres he had hired from clan moulder as they strugled to carry the heavy bell. The packmasters feeling their very whips on their own backs!
As the bell was finally put in place Stelfklaw summoned to him the engineer who had created the expensive but flawed machines.

The engineer pointed his staff at the clear azure sky, he felt the dark energies of chaos run through him, but still he persevered. A bakers dozen minutes later green lightning sprung from his hands, eyes, feet, ears and finnally from his mouth. Instantly the sky darkened. It absorded the energy of the engineer.
Suddenly the clouds broke. Green electrical fire lashed from them, seeking the copper rod. It struck the copper and the energy coursed through until it inhabited the bell instead.
Stelfklaws face widened with fear and joy.
The bell was animated by the power, slowly and steadily it began to swing, back and fore, back and fore. It was begining to chime its morbid song. It smashed for thirteen strokes - the crash of waves or huges cymbals. On the thirteenth the sky screamed, the tunnels screamed and Bohsenfels screamed. Huge lashes of lightning hitting the keep, stripping wall from tower and flesh from bone with equal ease.
As soon as it had started it stopped, a vermintide like none ever witnessed before rose from the tunnels into the smoking ruin of Bohsenfels, it raced engulfing everything in its path.
Bohsenfels was theirs! The Over Empire had began...
"We shall inherit," Stelfklaw screamed.
"We shall inherit," was the reply!

Many miles away the attention of a certain grey seer turned to the thunderous crash from the north, "Good," it whispered, " it is done."
His mind strayed back to the assassins of Plan Supremacy hoping they would have similar success!

Please tell me what you think!

Brilliant!
"We shall inherit!" etc, etc, etc.
One question though, those climbing machines, they sound suspiciously like 40K Chaos Defilers. Do you have time-travelling Skaven? Or did Chaos just rip off yet another idea from the rat-men.

I didn't think of that :)
Obviously the Chaos ripped off the Skaven - but I was looking for a sutibly evil creature who could climb walls - and thought Spider!

Other examples of wall-crawling creatures include:
Flayerkin (but too small, and a prime example of a ripped off Skaven idea)
Geckos (but too lizardman-like, and giant lizards? *Shudder*)
Monkeys (hmm, yes... I could see a rat-monkey thing here)

I'd go with the rat-monkey, or your spider idea, which is much better than these ones.
