Hi, i played a special scenario at my gaming store for SoC last weekend. Sorry, but the majority went for Castle Lenkster, so... It was a scenario that evil wanted to capture a dwarf mine and good protect it and you get bonus vp's for units in the defenders deployment zone. (mine in the middle of opponent half of table, they deploy around it) It was 'bring 500pts' and everyone could play. The game was so weird, i had to post it. So, pestilens 500 pts, here i go. We were 8. Armies: The 'so-called' good Bretonnia: Paladin with re-roll challenges combo, 5 realm knights, 10 bowmen and 3 pegasus knights Dwarfs: Thane +1 Str/strike first, 24 warriors full gear, flame cannon Empire: Captain sword +1Str/strike first and big plate, 16 spearmen with 2 detatchment of 8 handgunner each, hellblaster High elfs: Commander on horse, re-roll helm and ward save, 6 silver helms full equip, 10 archers, reaper bolt thrower The true good Chaos: exalted champ with +1 to hit sword enchanted shd slaanesh, 5 warhounds, 12 chosen warriors of slaanesh dark elves: Noble black amulet, 24 corsairs, reaper bolt thrower Vc's : Carstein thrall tomb blade enchanted shd, 1 bat swarm, 28 full equip no spears skeletons Skaven: Plague priest flail, 17 monks geared, 6 pcb, 20 slaves, 20 clanrats Deployment: archers, reaper and both cavalries on the left of the mine, pegasus knights and bowmen on the right, dawfs and spearmen on the middle, with both warmachines between the 2. From L to R: slaves in front of monks, censer besides, corsairs, warhounds and warriors behind, reaper, clanrats, skellies and swarm. Evil#1 All moves forward, trying to manoeuvre. Reaper opens on hellblaster, hitting the crew but slaying none. Good#1 Silver helms charge warhounds, beat them and overrun into corsairs. Realms charge slaves, but fails it by 1. Pegasus knights move. Flame cannon shoot clanrats, but it jams and will not fire for a while. Hellblaster shoot on chosen, are 1/8 on the corner, so short range, 8, 4, misfire (ignore this shot), and poof, 11 chosen bite the dust. (and THEY say ratlings are broken !!) Reaper at chosen, 4 hits, kills the chosen, 2 wounds on hero, but 1 is saved. 5 archers in pcb's, nothing, bowmen in swarm, 2 wounds, Handgunners kills 1 clanrat and 3 skellies. Evil#2 Exalted charge the flank of silver helms, do 4 wounds, and he kills 2. Commander kill 1 elf, 3 more from the knights, and loose none. Silver helm flee, and both pursuers rolls enough. Slaves and pcb charge realms, gas kills 1 knight and put a wound on paladin and kill a slave. 2 pcb's attack paladin, but saves the 2 wounds, 2 kotr and their champion dies, all their attacks kills 3 slaves. Kotr flees, but far enough. I don't matter as they can't rally anymore. Slaves come in contact with elven archers. Clanrats charge hellblaster, beat it and overrun in flame cannon. Skellies in spearmen, counter-charged by 1 detatchment, the other is blocked by clanrats. Captain hit the thrall, do 2 wounds and kills him. Skellies kill 2 spearmen and loose none. They lose by 2. Swarms hide behind skellies. Monks move all they can. Reaper shoot at reaper, hit the machine only. 6 skellies crumbles. Good#2 Dwarves charge exalted champion, chalenges the dwarf, receive nothing and do 1 wound, lose and flee, being pursued 2 inches. Kotr get out of the table. Pegasus knights move and as a good view to the flank/rear of many things. Reaper shoot at the very close pcb's and kills 2. The remaining detatchment and bowmen finishes the swarm. Slaves kills 3 archers, lose 0 and archers flees out of table, but slaves stay in barely. Reaper pass panic. Captain again kill 3 skellies and they lose by 6. Clanrats again win by killing nothing and they overrun from the flame cannon to the lone detatchment. Evil#3 Corsairs chages in dwarf flank, do nothing, lose some, draw. Pcb in reaper, gas kill them both, no overrun. Monks full speed towards mines, Slaves turn and come back, slaaneeshi lord do not rally and flee again. Clanrats kill 2 handgunners, utterly beat and catch them, coming to a halt in front of the mine. Skellies lose again. Reaper in pegasus knights do 3 wounds, but they pass panic test. 4 skeletons crumble. Good#3 Pegasus charge reaper, kills it and overrun in chaos lord, who flee enough. 7 bowmen shoot fleeing chaos hero, but miss. Skeletons explodes. Corsairs finally win by 1 and lap around. Evil#4 Clanrats reform to face empire. Slaves and monks take control of the mine. Pcb's charge dwarves flank, gas kills 4 dwarfs and 1 corsair and kills another 4 warriors, while the corsairs lose 1, so dwarfs get no tests and flees, both pursue and corsairs caught them. Good#4 Pegasus charges chaos hero and kills it. spearmen reform to face clanrats. Bowmen kills 1 corsair by arrow. Evil#5 Clanrats charge spearmen, lose by 1, flee and get caught and get in hth with monks. Pcb's charge detatchment, kills 2 with gas and 5 more, while 1 pcb choke himself and crush them, leaving them about 4 inches from bowmen. Corsairs reform to face spearmen. Good#5 Pegasus move 1 inche to the flank of monks, bowmen kills 1 pcb. Priest challenges captain, and nothing happens. Monks do no good and spears lose by 2 but stay. Evil#6 Corsairs close to the mine as nothing is in view, the last 2 pcbs charge bowmen, choke 1 and kills 4 and crush them. Priest takes a wound and again the armor saves of the captain saves him, he lose by 1 and stay. Good#6 Pegasus charge monks, priest dies, i lose by 2, they flee and are caught, but slaves and corsairs both succeed their panic tests. Game over Vp's: good:2201 evil:2509 So, evil wins, but barely, due to 1 table quarter and 2 units in 6 inches of the mine. |
