the intelligent Rat Ogre

There the lone Skaven stood on an open plain surrounded by moutains. In the middle of the plain on a a big rock towered the keep of Bohsenfels. The plain was full of battlegear, wounded men, beasts, things and casualties of the great battles who were fought here. But now it lay quiet as if the storm went passed or was it just the silence before the real storm. The skaven headed back to his chieftain. Skritor was his name and he was impatient of the news the scout would bring. For weeks Skritor Skull Scratcher was waiting to loot the keep. They had been underground for all that time just waiting to strike at the right time, when nobody would expect an assault. Skritor knew Bohesenfels was weakened by the raids and attacks of the armies of Melekh and the time would soon come to take over the keep. The scout arrived at his hideout. The chamber was empty. Suddenly the skaven saw the sleeping rat ogres, the pets of Skritor. A musk of fear spreaded in the room. The rat ogres caught this scent and were opening their eyes. When they saw the skaven they quickly crawled up and ran to the imposter. The scout dodged them but when one the rat ogres got hold of him and was about to squash his head as it were a balloon Skritor walked in and told the rat ogres to let him go. The ogres gnarled but let the skaven go. I see you've met my new pets. aren't they lovely? So what news? The scout got back on his feet and told Skritor Bohsenfels was reinforcing its ranks to be prepared for the next attacks. Skritor knew this was his only chance to bring down the keep and ordered his army to prepare for battle. Skritor had bought a map from Clan Eshin to know the way through the tunnels under Bohsenfels. He gave his Giant rats the chance to take this route and try to sneak behind the enemy and attack them from there. They were to be accompanied by his newest creation: his digging mole rat. This was going to be his first experiment with the mole rat and if it was to be succesful he might use it more often. This mission was to be led by Srolark the mutator. When the evening fell down on the lands of the empire the troops of Skritor started to pour out of their caves. It was starting to rain. The bodies of the new rat ogres were reflecting the light of Morslieb. The slaves looked awfully skinny with their fur drenched. Now they were only waiting for the signal of Srolark that they were inside the keep. Skritor waited and waited. But no way on the old world could it have taken such a long time. Those Eshin runners sold a wrong map Skritor was thinking but he would deal with them later. He was about to storm the keep with his force as he didn't want to wait any longer but then it happened. A loud crash and them some screams filled the foul air. Skritor knew that they got in. GO-GO now kill-KILL the man things!!! SKritor ordered his troops. The sound of battering steel and screams of men were heard in the night. Suddenly the bridge of the keep was let down. Skritor thought it was the work or Srolark. With a loud bang the bridge fell on the ground! A few moments nothing happened. Then the screaming of horses reached the ears of Skritor. His troops were close to the bridge now. Skritor sensed a musk of horse and before he could react a regiment of Bretonnian grailknights stormed over the bridge! They ran just through the ranks of slaves who were in front of the army. Skritor paniced but then pulled himself together as it were only slaves. The rain of knights that poured out of the keep didn't seem to stop. Skritor ordered his ratling guns to rain metal on the knights. Some of them fell others just went on as the bullets scattered on their armor as the rain. The slaves fled. The Bretonnian charge surged foreward. A swarm of rats lept on the horses of the grail knights stopping them almost immediatly. The horses screamed and the grail knights were trying to keep the rats out of their armour. But the rats carried a foul disease which Skritor had bought from Lord Skrolk himself. In agony some of the knights eyeballs fell out. Skritor ordered his rat ogres to get in the fight. On the other side another volley of ratling guns were making louds of casualties on the other knights that came out of the keep. The skaven carrying the barrel was getting distracted and forgot to give enogh bullets to the gunner. The gunner was enraged and pointed his gun on the skaven. And pulled the trigger as he thought there were no bullets left. But he was wrong. The bullet pierced through the warpstone device and caused a large explosion killing the other team with this. The battle went on and on may skaven fell to the lance of bretonnians but then suddenly there came an end to the stream of knights and it changed in a stream of giant rats who took a completly different road then was asked of them. Srolark then pushed his mole rat forward. This monstosity plowed through the tin cans that we call Bretons. The knights errant that saw this thing thought it was the challenge of the Lady. They charged at it as it was the only a small houserat. Off course they were wrong. Claws and fists and teeth ripped them appart until there was nothing more left then a pool of blood. There were not a lot of defenders left. And Skritor pushed his troops through the gate. To make a bloodbath and take many slaves was Skritor's intention but when he got inside there was nobody left. Bohsenfels was emptied for another purpose. The morning sun was coming out. Skritor took a last glimpse of the keep and thought he was the master of Bohsenfels. |
