Grey Seer Skoll at the Nordbergbruche II (2000 points Hold the Line vs Dwarf Slayers)

The Dwarven supply train stalled when the Slayers became aware of the Skaven presence along the winding trail leading to the Nordbergbruche. The two carts with gunpowder, mortar shells and spare hellblaster barrels were parked alongside the trail and some strangely painted, bright-furred lunatics, with their axes attached to chains, took up positions next to them. The other Slayers ran forward, eager to get to grips with the Skaven host.
A strangely constructed engine was wheeled into position, taking aim at the huge block of slaves. The slaves cowered as a mass of whirling axes was coming towards their formation. All they cut up was air, though, and the Slaves advanced chittering, confident that the Horned One smiled upon them.
The Warp Lightning cannon opened up, miraculously bending past a unit of Slayers, but hitting the war engine and its crew. One crewman and the engineer were blasted apart by coruscating energy; the remaining crewmember stubbornly stood his ground and loaded more missiles into the strange machine.
Warp lightning slammed into the Slayer unit heading for the cannon. Old Painless, the blessed Ratling-gun opened up, ripping huge chunks of meat out of the advancing Slayer horde. Liquid warpfire arced through the air, burning Dwarven meat off stunted bones. Grey Seer Skoll had left his Screaming Bell at the black Cairn for the moment; the terrain was unfavourable for his trusted chariot. Now, he missed the comfy bulk of his most holy artefact. His struggled with the winds of magic, these bright-furred dwarf-things were covered in protective tattoos that warded off most of the incantations that the Seer could cast. Close to one of the carts, he saw one of the lunatics kneel down, and listening intently at the noises coming from below him. He took up position, started whirling his dual axe-blades, and chopped into the elite Gutter Runners as they emerged from the ground. They stood their ground momentarily, but couldn’t get past the chained weapons and were wiped out.
The warp-lightning cannon crew thought they had done enough for today, and started moving the machine away from the all too closely positioned Slayers, back where they came from. Seer Skoll would have a word with these incompetent fools back at the black Cairn. All along the line, fuming warriors weathered storms of lead and warp lightning, and crashed into the Skaven battle-line. Especially, the crazed loners dealt out whirling death that no Skaven could stand against. The rat-ogres were taken apart by walking engines of destruction, although one could close its claw around the neck of the Slayer general. As the general was lifted into the air, his stunted legs trashing wildly, he hacked around with his runic axe and killed his assailant and its herders. In its death spasm, the rat-ogres muscles flexed, and the Slayer general fell to the ground in two parts.
Seer Skoll saw his Night Runners dodge deftly past another Doomseeker, and climb atop the gunpowder cart. A warning squeek came from the leader of the pack, and they all scurried off as the cart came apart in a huge explosion. However, in their haste, they could not avoid the chained axes, their victory short-lived.
The Slaves confidence that the Horned One blessed them was short-lived. Even whipping them into frenzy was to no avail, and they were broken by a Doomseeker, spelling doom for the Warlock Engineer nearby. The Plague Monks and Censer Bearers could not hold the whirling slayers at bay; the Monks were broken and ran off in the direction of the second cart. The doomseeker guarding it moved to intercept, but Seer Skoll blasted him apart with a searing bolt of warp lightning. The monks fled on towards the cart, before finally regaining their senses. Burning coals were thrown between the powder kegs, and the monks lifted their robes and ran of, cackling like maniacs. The black powder ignited spectacularly, secondary explosions wreaking havoc in a 100-feet radius as the mortar shells went off.
It was time to head back to the black Cairn, their mission had been completed, and the Emperial Artillery at the Nordbergbruche would soon run out of black powder and spare parts. Victory would come soon.

Looking back:

Doomseekers are BAAAAAAD, hard to avoid in this scenario, and difficult to defeat. I was so lucky with my Monks, them fleeing away from the enemy, running directly towards the second objective. With their second flee run, towards the nearest table edge, they came into base contact with the cart (I didn’t bend the rules for fleeing, it was just coincidence). Then they rallied in their last turn, and could destroy the cart. I was glad too that I could blast the Doomseeker guarding the objective with warp-lightning before he could intervene. Magic against these Slayer wards is difficult to get through. Really difficult army to fight, but we had fun. Hope the Nordbergbruche will fall soon.

ps Sorry for not fighting at Struhelspan, because of the fluff of the Loremaster Journal on day 13, I find it difficult to move off towards a different objective.
Getting my Screaming Bell through the Underways is always hell :P
