The grey seer casually leaned against his staff, listening to the soft chittering produced by his new companion, Wilhelm the Rat. The dank earth penetrated his nostrils, invading his every thought as the Skryre tunneling devices continued to hum with their arcane energies and chew away at the rock and earth. Verminous Fang could almost see their destination in his mind, a clearing just a few hundred yards behind the bridge that the man-things called "Struhelspan". Soon enough, he would break the surface and take this puny bridge. Not because of any commitment to the plans of chaos, but because he had plans of his own, webs within webs. Once his plan was complete, the old fools would have to put him in the council. yes-yes, Verminous Fang is not long in being a Lord of Decay himself. A change in pitch of the humming followed by a loud cracking noise brought the grey seer from his thoughts. One of the tunneling machines had exploded, and the scent of ozone and charcoal drifted to the grey seer, sparking a much more dangerous explosion. Verminous Fang strode to the wreck of the machine and singled out one of the survivors. "You told-told me that nothing could go wrong! This is something, yes?" A sickly green light surrounded the grey seer as he drew magical energies about him. The Skryre underling shrieked and tried to run, but the raw energies of chaos engulfed him, and his cries were soon cut off. The other Skryre devotees needed no encouragement to return to their work with renewed vigor, and the small amount of earth and debris that had drifted into the tunnel were soon removed, though the damage was done. Grey Seer Verminous Fang gritted his teeth and swatted at Wilhelm. This delay will not go unavenged! OK, so there was no-one to play at the shop today. Maybe tomorrow, though on Sunday, Warlock Engineer Thrish't is due in Breder, to take out the gunpowder supplies. |

Well, of the operators of that piece of equipment, there was only one who survived the "minor malfunction". I wrote it up so quickly, I guess I got a few facts mixed up. Oh, well. Aaahhhhh!! Typos!!! I can fix them here, but there's no edit function on GW... |
