I'd rather have that then a toning down. It makes it more risky, therefore more Skaven. |

I think that the best thing you can do to the rattling gun is simply roll on the misfire chart when you hit a double. This makes double 1's as dangerous as double 6's. And I haven't heard about any changes to anything, rattling guns or warplightning. In fact, I could've sworn that I heard "no more revisions" after the Dark Elves got theirs... |

I don't think that they will change the spell, although I am in favor of a minimum of 2 dice for the rattling gun, I told the group I game with I will never roll just one die, I feel its too cheezy, even when it burns me as last weeks game when I rolled a 6 v/s 5 mounted Yoemen, so I rolled the 2nd die and guess what I got...... Yep you guessed right another 6! The fun you can have playing Skaven! |

maybe the rattling gun should have a rule like the Orks in 40K, they have to make a ld test to STOP shooting and if they fail they role anyother dice. cheeky no? |

this would actually work, except that most people would end up rolling about 5 dice because of skavens low leadership

then keep em near their parent unit, rolling under a 8 is much easier than a 5, also it makes more sense fluff wise, you tend to do somehting (or stop doing somehting) when 30 odd voices shout at you to stop

That's a great rule! I think I'll make it a house rule or something. (As only skaven player in the neighbourhood, that shouldn't be too difficult.) I can just see the crazed look in the gunner's eye as he keeps turning the crank faster and faster and faster despite the warning smoke rising from the barrel... Oh, and remember that gun teams can use the rank bonus of their parent unit, so if they are close by it won't be too risky. Just imagine the clanrats forcibly stopping the gunner from killing everyone around by throwing a rock at his head. |

"I have a post-Armageddon vision. We and all other large animals are gone. Rodents emerge as the ultimate post-human scavengers. They gnaw their way through New York, London and Tokyo... within 5 million years, a whole range of new species replace the ones we know. Herds of giant grazing rats are stalked by sabre-toothed predatory rats. Given enough time, will a species of intelligent, cultivated rats emerge?" Richard Dawkins, The Ancestor's Tale | |

That would definitely be a good rule and it would cut back on all the flak the ratling gun gets. |

gav did say no more revisions so they can finish putting out the other armies for 6th (WE, OK). they might put some new trial rules in a WD instead. |

I'll be pretty annoyed if they tamper with either the Ratling gun or the Warp Lightning spell. I refuse to play with self imposed limits and everyone in my gaming group both agree and understand. I don't play a cheese, I play to have fun and create a story. Almost every game I play has a theme or a story to it. That being said, Im not about to make it harder for my army to be competitive just cause some whiney punk feels the army is "overpowered". Its these same people that get upset when the powerful or over-advantaged units in their lists are pointed out. It tends to be a one way street. I do my best to ignore these people but Im concerned that GW will take them seriously. Like others here, I had heard that they weren't gonna be messing with the list too but with GW, you never know. No one did. "If they are going to replace the WFT, why didn’t they do that when the skaven WERE re-released and got all their new models? " |

no, in the upcoming campaign there are going to be plastic plague monks and the re-release of one of the old special characters. |
