I decided, finally to try SoC eshin. bad thing is, he also decided to try his chaos dragon... I took Lv2 wiz, 1x dispel scroll (gen), Lv2 wiz, brass orb, assasin w/gouger, assassin w/warpstone stars 4x 11 night runners w/stars, 3x 12 gutter w/poison stars, 3x swarms, 10x jezzails, 10x globadiers, 1x triad. He had Chaos lord (sl) on dragon, 2x lv2 fire mage w/2x scrolls + 2x power stones 2x 25 marauders, 2x chariot, 7x furies, 3x slan. minotaurs, 2x slan. spawns, 6x hounds, 10x hounds To make story short, i got my butt kicked absolutely without any doubt. Except for 1 team of gutter runners and the triad, who worked together, never failing a darn test. Everything panicked, got fireballed, got terrored or dragoned. Swarms being the exception, being charged by 2 chariots who did 13 impact hits and diying in 2 fast cc rounds. UtCoD was REAL good, with me getting 3x 10 and 3x 8 on art. dice. I never got off 1 single skitterleap. My stars assassin tried a desperated move, putting himself 10'' in front of dragon, but failed to wound with all 3 hits and... died. Like i said, my only kills were the 3 minotaurs, 1 spawn, 1 chariot, 1/2 a marauders unit and the little hound unit. All done by my heroes groups mentionned before, and they even put 3 wounds (poison) on the dragon. All i had left was my general with 1 Wo, and 1 triad member. The only things i couldn't deal with were the dragon and those horribly powerfull and destructive spawns, with their 360 move and 3 dices move. |

I've found that 3 Lv2 sorcerors and a Master assassin with the fellblade works well in 2000 point games. That one more shot at skitterleap might have let you take out a dragon. Or get eaten.
Someone enlighten me on spawns. I thought that since they're on a monster base, the can't see 360, only their front arc. Oh, well. The eshin list is difficult to use. The main thing is to concentrate on the heroes exclusively. Not easy to do, especially with a dragon running around. Good luck in your next game!

Yeah, but that's 700pts in 4 characters, and 3 of them can't fight. Not very skaven. And i don't like m.assassin. +1 atk, more ws and more ini, that's not worth +100pts.
They don't work like a normal monster. They move in the compulsory move phase, and the player choose a direction, roll the dices and the spawn move there. If he gets in contact, he count as charging. So, screw you, you little skirmishers !! (and he is unbreakable and cause fear)

Well, the main reason for 3 Lv2 and a MA is so that you can take the fellblade, and kill a dragon on turn 1. It should also be noted that the eshin list is less "horde" than the main list, as extra numbers do so little for you. (No ranks, no strength in numbers, etc.) And anything that causes fear is bad for the eshin list, but something that causes fear and is unbreakable, well that just plain sucks.
